Day to Day Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the North China AE team.
Understand Gorilla Glass products and technology to provide mentorship and support to the North China AE team.
Maintain, allocate and assign resources of the North China AE team to most effectively serve Gorilla Glass customers and business.
Be responsible to the Gorilla Glass WWAE Manager for the effective operations of the North China AE team.
Serve as an effective Gorilla Glass Applications Engineer
Assist account managers with technical aspects of customer relationships
Negotiate external product specifications for GG products.
Gain specification agreement with customers buying GG products
Organize internal response to product quality disagreements with customers and represent the outcome to the customer.
Provide the customer technical interface between GG and assigned customers
Act as point of contact for customers’ technical information requests.
Provide technical assistance to the customers’ manufacturing and sales operations.
Prepare and maintain (and present as required internally and externally) technical and product related training presentations to assist customers.
Identify new product and application opportunities for Corning products (GG or others) at customers or otherwise in the field and report them back internally for assessment and development.
Represent the customer perspective on GG internal projects
Represent department and customers on internal projects
Assume added leadership roles on internal projects as necessary
Provide training as required (inside and outside the department) for assigned areas of technical specialty

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in technical field. Engineering degrees preferred. Advanced degree preferred. Degree in glass technology, ceramics or Materials or related field preferred.
At least five years’ work experience in current field. Experience in ion exchanged glass technology preferred. Experience in Consumer Electronics preferred.
3 years global company and 2 years supervisor experience
Fluency in the English language: CET-6

Required Skills
Good communication skills in both Chinese and English
Good supervisory / people skills
Knowledge (or ability to learn quickly) of chemically strengthened (ion exchanged) technology and Consumer Electronics cover glass applications(training will be provided)
Skills to communicate clearly in front of a large (perhaps unsympathetic) audience, including explaining Gorilla Glass technology and applications.
Poise and confidence in an external situation. Ability to think extemporaneously in a stressful situation.
Ability to apply technical knowledge to solve customer problems. Ability to “think ahead”, using judgment to anticipate outcomes for different technical scenarios.
Ability to effectively organize, participate in and lead cross-functional and diverse teams. Ability to gain trust and cooperation from a diverse set of internal colleagues and external customers.
