-Establishing and maintaining an IBM relationship with several Business Partners operatings.
-He/She has expert marketing, business, technical and professional skills and has ultimate responsibility for the success of the relationship. This involves identifying and qualifying IBM opportunities, engaging the appropriate IBM resources to support go-to-market strategy and execution with the BP , gaining BP commitment to create opportunities within chosen segments and ensuring overall BP satisfaction.
-The Client Manager has an in-depth understanding of the BP's business and is able to determine areas where IBM's functional business segments can complement the BP's business in addressing chosen market segments.
In addition, the Client Manager often provides guidance and direction to others.
-He/She is expected to understand and guide the BP on IBM's Business Partner Process & Controls matters and ensure that the BP complies to the expected level of integrity.

They are responsible for the total customer relationship with one strategic or several important Business Partners. Employees in this role plan and facilitate and/or conduct complex negotiations reaching lasting agreements and commitments. They are responsible for revenue (sell to, sell with and/or sell through), market share, and customer satisfaction on assigned accounts.
