About the Organisation:
This is a market leading online hotel reservation service in the world.
About the Role:
We are looking for a User Researcher to join our newly formed Product and Marketing organization in Shanghai. You will help design and implement research projects to deepen our understanding of how Chinese consumers use the website and applications. You will deliver material insights that allow the team to make measurable improvements to the products with a focus on enhancing user experience. You will be responsible for the method to use, which data to capture, and how to interpret and communicate the results to your colleagues. Your personal toolkit is composed of a variety of methods, including, but not limited to, focus groups, traditional one-on-one usability interviews, surveys, and data analysis. You will focus on short-term conversion and long-term customer loyalty. You will help prioritizing potential business opportunities identified to the maximum benefit of the business
For this role you will need to have strong usability experience and an e-commerce background
Key Responsibilities:
Initiate and execute research to discover opportunities for concrete website optimization experiments
Provide in-depth research insights and communicate the most relevant industry and competitive insights to stakeholders
Help colleagues prioritize and refine their projects by providing the user perspective
Coordinate Shanghai based user research projects with those being performed from the global headquarters
Key Requirements:
3-4 years of (hands-on) qualitative user and usability research experience within e-Commerce, embedded in more extensive general market research experience
As you will apply mainly qualitative research methods, your background is ideally in psychology, sociology, marketing or interaction design
Familiar with quantitative research, including A/B testing
You are comfortable working with numbers and know when research data is statistically reliable
Able to influence a wide variety of audiences and bring across your findings in a pleasant yet convincing way
Fluency in English and Chinese, both spoken and written
Proactive attitude and desire to work within a dynamic, vibrant, international and innovative environment
