Our client is a famous European owned enterprise in high performance material.
Position Title: Sales Director China (Building and Energy and Medical)
Location: Shanghai China
Job Summary:
The incumbent of this position is to lead the sales team of company business (Filtration or Medical) in China, directing all the sales activities in order to achieve the growth of sales revenue and profits each year. This requires establishing both short term and long term sales targets, formulating the sales strategy in order to achieve the targeted growth. While proactively driving the growth of the company's business, and maintaining real-time vigilance on business performance, the incumbent is responsible for enhancing the capability of the sales team in China, inspiring their engagement, and exploring the full potential of each team member so that the whole is more than the sum of individual parts. In addition, he/she must drive the alignment between sales force and business units in order to effectively and efficiently implement the sales programs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
·Establishing sales targets each year, dividing growth into existing base and new growth opportunities, e.g.
new application, new product introduction & new customer acquisitions.
·Formulate annual sales strategy, properly defining the goals, identifying issues, challenges, and
opportunities, and develop the action plans to close up the gap.
·Lead the efforts in key account management, developing and implementing the strategies and action plan for each of the key accounts, in order to constantly enhance the relationship, and increase the wallet share.
·Systematically build new growth pipeline, with opportunities identified in the market places relating to new application, new product development, and new growth models. This includes opportunities in both short term and long term, and requires documenting the new opportunities in company's CRM system.
·Significant efforts will be required from the team to proactively acquire new customers, either from competitors, and/or from new market places and new entrances, establishing strategies and action plan for Key ·Development Accounts.
·Interfacing with other functions of the business areas, including product development, production, supply chain and R & D, getting aligned in annual goals, customer issues, market intelligence, and both sales and marketing programs, and actively engaging supports to implement programs to achieve growth objectives.
·Create and implement rigorous review system to manage the sales performance, via setting clear goals, mile stones and key performance indicators, and review on regular basis, and take actions accordingly in order to maintain the performance on right track.
·Constantly inspire and motivate the team through providing recognition and celebrating achievements, sharing expectation, and giving feedbacks on regular basis, and driving the team engagement via shared values.
Support global Sales EVP and business controller in developing sales plan, annual cost and attending and presenting in the relevant sales meetings.
Key Competencies and Skills:
·5 Years + similar experience in management position, preferably in chemical industry, and multinational companies with interactions under environment of different cultures.
·A bachelor degree in engineering is a must, and MBA or master degree in other disciplines are preferred
Very Strong leadership, being able to influence instead of commanding on power, focusing on big pictures, and lead the team via inspiration and motivation
·Proven track records of meeting sales targets on a consistent basis, and the ability to take on challenges during adversarial market conditions.
·Excellent interpersonal skills, proactively interacting with both internal and external parties, and being able to take on constructive conflicts.
·Efficient and effective communication skills with emphasis on convincing power, persistent in right arguments, and persuade others to drive common understanding.
·Experience in leading and managing a virtue team in the past. (The incumbents will have 5 + directs subordinates).
