Senior Analyst, Smartphones & Mobile
 
Summary:
 
IHS is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its team of market analysts covering the smartphone market. As a Senior Analyst, you will provide data analysis and research support covering technology and market trends, device adoption across the world, with increasing responsibility for specific coverage areas and/or geographies over time. You will be located either in the Shenzen office.
 
This position will focus on researching the fast-paced global smartphone market, including smartphone manufacturers; the smartphone supply chain; service providers / mobile telecom operators; and smartphone distributors.
 
You will be working with a team of colleagues located across multiple locations in China, other parts of Asia, Europe and North America.
 
The successful candidate will:
Create quantitative market size, market forecasts, and market analysis for the smartphone market and related mobile markets.
Build good relationships with leading companies in the smartphone, other mobile telecom companies, and in the smartphone supply chain.
Interview industry participants to understand their strategies and gain market data.
Write research notes providing regular written analysis and reports for clients on the smartphone and mobile markets, including: country trends, OEM strategies, technology shifts, business models, key product launches, and more.
Conduct desk research on the smartphone and other mobile markets.
Cultivate a deep understanding of the smartphone market.
Work in an international environment and collaborate with other IHS analyst teams, including those specializing in: Media, Semiconductors; Displays, Mems & Sensors and Health.
Answer Chinese and international client inquiries by email and telephone.
Have opportunities to present at industry conferences.
Be available for occasional international travel.

Required skills & characteristics:
Strong academic record with a minimum good bachelor's degree.
Good relationship-building skills.
At least 2-3 years’ experience in the mobile & telecom industry or in related industries.
Strong quantitative skills.
Proficiency with MS applications - Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
A keen attention to detail and highly effective organization and prioritization skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with coworkers around the world across many time zones.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines on a tight schedule.
Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
Natural curiosity, adaptability, strong motivation and self-drive.
Enthusiasm!
