Job Title:Manager, supplier quality engineering
Job Description and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY

We are searching for 4 high potential candidates to lead Asia supplier development for capital equipments which will be splitted for below 4 key categories base on commodities.
? Fabricated equipment
? Machinery
? Valves and equipments
? Plant/Fleet equipments
This new function-SQE will be critical to the success of Air Products' China strategy and its low-cost country sourcing (LCCS) effort as an enterprise strategy, driving lower costs in our products, projects and operations through greater focus on and improved management of our supplier base. In particular, the SQE function will develop, improve, and drive the following supplier-related processes and activities:
? Supplier Qualification
? Supplier Quality Improvement and Control
? Supplier Value Engineering
? Supplier Innovation (contributing role)
In the future, we anticipate that this function may play a key role in global sourcing strategy.
The position will be located in Shanghai, P.R.C.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

? Lead the supplier development process and activities in term of project timing, key qualification and quality control gates/milestones and deliverables for capital equipments.
? Lead supplier qualification and problem solving and drive corrective actions with support from engineering and global sourcing team.
? Own and improve the supplier qualification process to accelerate expansion of the local supplier base while reducing the required functional engineering workload
? Support common processes for supplier quality control and improvements, monitor supplier quality, identify high-priority supplier issues through supplier corrective action report or improvement plan to address and coordinate when and where to involve functional experts
? Develop and drive a formal supplier value engineering program to enhance the quality, performance, and cost of the supplier base
? Optimize the use of engineering resources involved in supplier activities
? Manage suppliers as well as interface with cross function teams


QUALIFICATIONS

? Minimum 8 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, or design/manufacturing engineering related.
? Major in mechanical engineering or related subject, minimum 3 years of management experience.
? Preferred background in industrial gases or related industries, be familiar with Capital equipment design / manufacturing process is necessary.
? Ability to lead whole supplier development, qualification and improvement activities.
? Ability to lead supplier problem solving with support from engineering and global sourcing team.
? Strong project management experience with clear understanding of project timing, supplier qualification milestones and deliverables.
? Good verbal and written communication skills (both English and Chinese)
? Advanced knowledge of quality system and problem solving, ISO9001, Lean six sigma.
? Professional proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
