职位描述：
Job Purpose Statement
The product development engineer will be responsible for leading projects comprised of new tire pattern design, profile design and tire specification development, exploring and developing new concepts can lead to new products or improves processes. This position will drive the development of new product development projects using our DFLS (Design for Lean Sigma) stage/gate process. This position reports to the R&D Manager- Power Sports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
？ Lead and coordinate new products and processes design and development projects.
？ Utilize advanced data interpretation methods to evaluate existing products and processes that meet internal and external customer requirements. Translate product needs to experimental data or design parameters.
？ Coordinate design and tooling of new molds working with CAD designer and plant engineering to include equipment requirements as needed.
？ Work closely with Process Engineering to insure any changes as a result of existing or new products have acceptable capability.
？ Interact with customers as needed to understand product application and performance requirements.
？ Work with external vendors as necessary to develop new technology for product development process.
？ Travel as necessary to perform assignments.

Required Education and Experience:
？ BS or advanced degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
？ Experience with Tire Design/Process is preferred
？ Strong analytical, creativity and problem solving skills
？ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
？ Green Belt or Black Belt Certified, preferred.
？ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
？ Ability to influence others within the organization when no direct reporting relationship exists
？ Provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees within the company, external suppliers, and customers
？ Be capable of understanding the complex relationship between cause and effect in developing new ideas
？ Understand cost effect on design decisions
？ Ability to organize and prioritize work
？ Be able to travel as necessary
