General Summary:

The Merchandiser is responsible for the merchandising activities of the designated product category; follows through the entire sourcing process from sample development, supplier recommendations and selection, costing analysis, production monitoring, order tracking and delivery; works closely with suppliers and coordinates amongst GS and cross-functional teams to ensure products are delivered meeting the Company requirements.

Principal Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Works closely with US Global Sourcing Team and local suppliers to achieve product sourcing/development, production requirements and program execution; activities include providing support in sourcing, new program development, program management, production planning and capacity reservation, order execution and follow up, negotiation with suppliers, production tracking to ensure on-time delivery.
2. Identify, validate and recommend suppliers that will receive RFQ's and possible manufacturing contracts.
3. Execute the issuance, negotiation, review and recommendation of assigned suppliers for manufacturing contracts, inclusive of cost, timing, specification/objective adherence, quality process and quantity.
4. Build and maintain effective partnership relationship with suppliers; develop suppliers to ensure their complete understanding and compliance of THT requirements,
5. Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers for opportunities and issues in fulfilling RFQ and contracted manufacturing commitments.
6. [Apparel] Undertakes activities to ensure that fabric and trimmings are up to standard and ready for production, production requirements are communicated clearly to parties concerned and production processes are managed properly so that the shipment is delivered on time.
7. Support and contribute to the gathering of market intelligence.
8. Work in partnership and collaboratively with US Global Sourcing team to ensure product and production requirements are communicated and executed by suppliers in a timely and effective manner.
9. Monitors order tracking activities to meet quantity, quality, product specifications and delivery requirements
10. Responsible to review all information for accuracy and completeness.
11. Execute and manage pre-production/WIP planning with contracted factories/suppliers.
12. Monitor and manage timeline and milestone activity reports to ensure on-time/complete PO and SO fulfillment.
13. Work closely and collaboratively with THT across-team functions (quality, logistic, finance, etc.) to identify and resolve issues/exceptions.
14. Initiate and/or proactively communicate the PO generation process for confirmed programs with contracted manufactures.
15. Monitor and manage sample collection and review in a timely and orderly manner.
16. Consistently and effectively utilize sourcing tools and aids to execute responsibilities, inclusive of PLM, ELC and Total Cost of Ownership models, etc.
17. Other ad-hoc projects or tasks as assigned by the Company/Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
(Please indicate Education / Experience / Technical Skills and Other Skills & Competences required for this role.)
? Bachelor Degree in Merchandising, Business Management, or equivalent.
? At least 5 years of working experience in reputable global retail chain stores, sourcing/trading company, or buying offices, 3+ years of which in merchandising field handling relevant product categories.
? [Apparel] At least 5 years of relevant garment merchandising experience in MNC, preferably gained in retail industry, sourcing/trading company or buying offices, 3+ years of which in handling relevant product categories (ie men/ladies, kids, toddler, children wear, accessories, footwear, etc.)
? Knowledge of US retail market preferred
? [Apparel] Basic knowledge of fabric construction and garment workmanship
? Strong production and order follow up experience.
? Understanding of the product development life cycle from both a merchandising and manufacturer's perspective desired but not mandatory.
? Knowledge of web-based product life cycle management tools, inclusive of work flow, task management, supplier/service provide collaboration and management reporting (eg PLM / ERP) an advantage.
? Good English written and verbal communication skills to facilitate interaction with overseas counterparts and merchandising teams, as well as suppliers and service providers.
? Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
? Positive working attitude, proactive & energetic. A quick learner and a team player.
? Multi-tasking. Attention to detail and accuracy.
? Good sense of responsibility. Ability to handle stress and work under pressure.
? Good command of Computer Knowledge (eg Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
? Willing to travel when required.
