职位描述：
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Position’s primary responsibility is creating mechanical designs as part of new product development projects. Position will also be involved with product sustaining efforts and cost reduction efforts. Position will interact with project management, marketing, sales, purchasing, and customer service as required to complete projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Creates and owns mechanical designs of CDC products (mostly including creating product shape in Solidwork per ID idea) as assigned by Program Manager.
? Designs complex injection molded parts, extruded aluminum parts, sheet metal parts, machined metal parts.
? Designs complex motion mechanism including gear systems.
? Designs module level products to be waterproof and highly cost effective as required by specification.
? Determines feasibility of proposed new product designs based on initial new product specifications.
? Manages multiple project timelines ensuring key milestones are met successfully.
? Works with assigned Electrical Engineer(s) to optimize compatibility of electrical and mechanical portions of product designs.
? Works closely with program manager throughout new product development process (NPD) to ensure NPD is adhered too.
? Assures completion of mechanical documentation, as required by NPD.
? Selects materials and finishes with the use of technical data sheets considering the end use environment.
? Coordinates with contract manufacturer to obtain part cost quote, feasibility to build and continues through part approval.
? Develops the budget with PM for the Tooling, Design, and Engineering of complex injection molded parts, extruded aluminum parts, sheet metal parts, and machined metal parts, water tight and water resistant products.
? Leads DFMEA design reviews and peer mechanical design reviews for products under development, submits for approval, and follows-up on corrective actions needed.
? Conducts mold layout reviews on new products before tooling release.
? Owns mechanical design portion of return reduction efforts.
? Owns mechanical design portion of cost reduction efforts.
? Tracks and measures all projects by appropriate methods as directed by Program Manager/ Director.
? Supports development of instruction manuals, training manuals, and other consumer service information.
? Supports transition of completed products to manufacturing.
? Carries out other duties as assigned.

SPECIFICATIONS:
? Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
? Speaks fluent English and Mandarin.
? Possesses excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
? Is self-starting, self-motivated, and a goal oriented team member.
? Has ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects at one time to meet deadlines.
? Possesses both the ability to work independently and work with a team to accomplish tasks.
? Minimum 4 -year technical degree from an accredited institution Masters Degree preferred.
? Proficient user of Solidworks 3D modeling software and experience with PDM, FEA, and other analysis software as well as prototype technologies such as SLA, SLS, Silicone Molds and Soft Tooling.
? Working knowledge of using Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauge and common hand tools.
? Has a minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical design.
? Can sit for a majority of the workday with minimal walking, bending, and standing required.
? Has excellent computer skills including knowledge of common Office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
? Is willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
? Complete assigned projects according to project timelines.
? Complete all project documentation according NPD.
? Complete assigned projects within budget.
? Provides advice to Electrical Engineer on mold development and other mechanically relevant issues.
? Executes the company’s Intellectual Property Strategy by designing with the goal of patentable designs.

RELATIONSHIPS:
? Reports directly to China Team Manager.
? Maintains an effective working relationship with all China team members and with all members of the support departments critical to new product development projects.
