The Qualcomm Location Technology organization is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the Android/Linux Location Software Development Team.

Qualification
This position involves development and commercialization of Location Technology software on Android/Linux Operating Systems across a wide range of hardware platforms, with an emphasis on customizations for Asian OEMs and resolution of issues found by Asian OEMs. This role requires
- Userspace Hardware Abstraction Layer and Android Framework design, development, testing and maintenance for various components of the OS.
- Driver bring-up on embedded platforms for new QCT chipsets.
- Porting of new Location Technologies/GPS features to existing chipsets.
- Collaborating with fellow location software developers, application engineers and test teams while analyzing issues, fixing bugs, releasing patches, etc.

Preferred Qualification
- A good understanding of basic real-time/embedded engineering
- Hands on experience with Linux (userspace or kernel), Android, Java VM, and/or other modern smartphone operating systems.
- Must be proficient in C/C++, Java. Python experience is a plus.
- Able to do basic bash programming.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Working experience with GIT.
- An Ability to work well with a team as well as independently is essential
- Strong embedded system software debugging experience
- Familiarity with testing frameworks, such as junit, gtest, etc.
- Understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) is a plus

Education
A BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or similar is required.
An MS degree is preferred

- GPS & Location knowledge is a plus.
