Job Duties:

- Manage and develop a portfolio of Global Banking relationships with Korean clients in China, building scale within and maximizing return from the Korean portfolio. Facilitate and enhance deal origination, delivering long term, profitable and multi-product relationships, with satisfactory risk profile and adequate share of wallet.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive client strategic marketing plan for Korean clients in China, to drive revenue growth through clearly defined targets and timelines for deliverables.

- Lead the marketing of HBCN to Korean clients in China, working in coordination with assigned local RMs, GRMs and CSTs. Participate in and add value to the development of local relationships by building additional proximity with client’s representatives in China.

- Promote HBCN proposition in Korea, both at HBAP SEL and at client’s HQ level. Actively engage with SEL colleagues and client leadership at HQ level.

- Market HBCN within the Korean Community in China.

- Support RM, SEL GRM and Product teams to establish understanding of client business, perform client planning and wallet analysis, build client propositions, perform pitches and follow up for business execution. Facilitate the RM’s smooth actioning of referrals, efficient evaluation of Korean client’s financial risks and performance for credit processing and other operational processes as required.

- As required, backup/assist Relationship Managers covering Korean names in China.

- Lead and develop junior Relationship Managers and assistants in the team

Job Requirements:

- Corporate Banker having minimum 6 - 8 years of general banking experience with a significant exposure in Corporate Banking and experience marketing banking services to Korean Corporates.

- Sound knowledge of banking practices and procedures together with a demonstrated knowledge of commercial banking, payment and cash management products, treasury, trade products, accounting practices, banking law and security documentation is required. Knowledge of the China banking market is helpful but can be developed.

- Client service experience paired with a strong sense of accountability and integrity

- Strong analytical skills with an ability to think laterally to facilitate the structuring of complex credits and to quickly determine the issues pertaining to a credit situation.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, together with negotiating experience and confidence to deal with senior principals of large corporations.

- High standard of spoken and written English and Korean. Mandarin also beneficial but not essential.
