JOB DESCRIPTION

Assistance / Quality Assurance Manager (QAM)

Purpose of Position

To manage and train inspectors within the specified area/country, as designated by the Quality Assurance Director to ensure that every customer’s quality expectations are completely satisfied per internal and external requirements.

To take ownership of customer satisfaction, product inspection events & reliability performance and quality assurance programs

To inspect/delegate the inspection of all in-coming materials, semi-finished and finished at factory production and prior to shipment, to ensure that the materials & products adhere to the specified quality, labeling, packaging, and documentation standards.

To compile historical data to isolate sources, product lines and specific items that have the highest rates of quality problems, product failures and discrepancies then analyze root causes to drive corrective actions appropriate.

To use established statistical quality control and sample size standards. To regularly report irregularities and to monitor the correction of discrepancies and shipments being held pending the correction of discrepancies.

To evaluate/designate and train QA leaders & engineers to evaluate factories and products on behalf of customers, taking into account location, production methods, capacity, quality assurance programs used, safety, health, environment and management ethics.

To provide leadership, education and coaching to all staff and to ensure that they are aware of the quality policies, product compliances and customer satisfaction of the best class level.

Scope and Magnitude

The QAM is responsible for managing and conducting quality assurance, reliability testing, 6S, LEAN, Six Sigma and continuous improvement programs for their designated areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

To manage and provide training to leaders, engineers inspectors within their designated areas.

When necessary, to personally examine adequate sample lots of finished goods prior to shipment release for general appearance and conformance to SOP, specifications and standards.

To control the retention of inspection materials at incoming, FAI, WIP, finished goods and testing such as inspection record, samples, on-going reliability test reports, specification reports and sealed samples.

To prepare inspection, discrepancy and factory performance report summary as and when requested by the Quality Assurance Director.

To maintain inspection report records with the acceptance and rejection rates for the inspected items in conjunction to sealed samples, acceptance / limited sample criteria, SOP &industrial standards.

To be able to work with, direct and discipline staff independently.

To keep factory & production audits and evaluations associated to assurance and improvement programs

Knowledge and Skills Required

The Asst / QAM must: -

Have at least three to five years’ experience in a managerial position with textile or apparel factory operation environment exposure

A related technical degree is highly desirable.

Sound consumer product quality standard with solid inspection, testing and packaging requirements.

With strong sportswear and accessories testing technical and compliance knowledge of leading brands

Be bilingual (both written and spoken) in the Putonghua and English.

Exhibit effective communication skills and have the ability to interact with management and production work force.
