General Responsibilities:
Based out of our Shenzhen, China office, the Senior Electrical Engineer, Sustaining will be responsible for sustaining efforts including but not limited to production failure analysis (FA), corrective action (CA), implementation of continuous improvement plan (CI), cost reduction by value engineering, cost reduction by re-design, vendor transitions, second sourcing, and other general sustaining efforts. You will be engaged in projects from Product Acceptance Phase, working side-by-side with NPI team and then completely own and manage Production/Sustaining phases. Work closely with product design engineers, OEM/ODM vendors, Quality team, Sourcing team, Program Managers, and Product Managers to ensure 3ON (On Quality, On Cost, On Schedule) objectives are met.

You will be required to make frequent domestic trips to manufacturing sites.

Specific Responsibilities:
? Conduct NPI to Sustaining hand-off, ensuring product has met the minimum MP requirements
? Perform process audit and system audit for OEM/ODM and critical component suppliers such as PCB, PCBA, IC, transformer
? Lead FA/CA for any EE design, process, and component issues and implement preventive measures
? Proactively seeks for cost and process optimization opportunities, propose design, component, process changes
? Validate changes through product level functional testing
? Collaborate with Quality team to validate reliability, regulatory, and sustainability compliance
? Review ODM design change requests in the forms of schematic, PCB layout, BOM, and specifications
? Conduct in-depth PCBA level DFM & DFA studies
? Conduct manufacturing flow-chart review with special focus on in-line and burn-in test setup
? Manage Electrical BOM and ECO updates through the use of Agile (PLM)
? Support product builds for DVT and PVT all the way to formal implementation
? Participate in supplier qualification and audit
? Assist with documentation modification, including product specifications, work instructions, test plans and other documented attributes of the product.
? Travel to vendor and manufacturing sites as required
? Occasional travel to US, Hong Kong, and Taiwan maybe required
? Perform all other duties as assigned and required


Education and Experience Requirements:

? Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field
? Minimum 8 years related work experience in design, fabrication, and qualification of high volume consumer electronic products
? Power supply, analog, and digital design experience
? High speed data, video, and audio design experience
? MFi experience highly desired (Made For iOS devices)
? USB type-C, USB 3.1, and Power Delivery (PD) experience
? Understanding of EMC design principles and design products for compliance with agency approvals (FCC, UL, USB, MFi, etc.)
? Good problem solving skills especially in relation to trouble shooting thermal, EMC, signal integrity, and safety issues.
? Strong data analysis skills, arriving at root cause and resolutions through robust data formulation
? Advanced Schematic and PCB layout experience, Altium Designer experience preferred
? Strong knowledge in PCB & PCBA manufacturing processes
? Hands on experience in a fast paced and high quality manufacturing environment with a good working understanding of high volume manufacturing process is preferred.
? Knowledge in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP - gage R&R, FAI, cpk, control plan)
? Ability to manage new and unique situations with minimal supervision
? Experience in working with cross-functional teams managing multiple projects concurrently
? Strong planning, scheduling, and presentation skills
? Experience in working with global teams, especially working with US counterparts, highly desired
? Strong verbal and written English skills
? Effective communication through well-organized reports
? Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
