W. L. Gore & Associates is seeking for an experienced Quality Engineer to drive continuous improvement projects and activities globally from the Fabrics Division's Shenzhen plant.

On a day to day basis this commitment requires the associate to support the operations of the Quality Assurance team, reviewing product performance data, problem solving, interacting with manufacturing and business functions, and driving improvements in product quality. In addition this associate will take on a broad range of responsibilities to operate globally, driving improvements in our Quality Assurance operations worldwide.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and monitor the key product performance measures and drive improvement as required

2. Partner with the PE & SQE to understand the impact of process and RM variables on product attributes and drive appropriate improvements in product

3. Communicate to the product specialist the manufactured quality of the product and any process limitations

4. Understand impact of raw material variability on final product and participate in development of raw material specifications and accept/reject criteria

5. Partner with Development Engineers and Product Specialists to verify capability and conformance to design specifications of new products

6. Partner with the Process Engineer for product and process capability and validation of products and proposed changes

7. Develop "cause and effect" troubleshooting guides

8. Drive technical trouble shooting within the supply chain

9. Assist with maintaining the SOPs for the complete process

10. Partner with CQE to resolve customer complaints timely and at a root cause level

Requirements

Must haves:

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical, Materials, Textile or Mechanical Engineering Discipline (or other relevant applied science subject) required

2. Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering in a complex process, with 3+ years experience in a leader/manager role

3. Demonstrated ability to ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion (project management skills)

4. Track record of effective problem solving and root-cause analysis

5. Demonstrated experience in leading teams and/or projects and ability to influence others to drive change

6. Proven written and oral English communication skills

7. Familiarity using statistical tools, SPC tools, DOE's .etc

Nice to have:

8. Desired experience with ISO 9001 or GMP

9. Demonstrated success in working with cross functional teams in a multi-culture environment is preferred.

10. Knowledge of Six Sigma or lean manufacturing and Understanding of metrology tools

11. Familiarity with quality software systems

12. Desired experience with product and process validation

13. Desired textiles / garment or related industry experience
