PURPOSE:
1.1.This job description covers the skills and responsibilities for the R&D Test Technician position.
1.2.R&D Test Technicians provide testing support to R&D engineers engaged in all phases of new product development from concept selection through field support.
1.3.R&D Test Technicians assist in planning, setting up test equipment and fixturing, conducting studies and experiments and summarizing the resulting data in report form.
EDUCATION / DEGREE REQUIRED:Bachelor or higherdegree in engineering discipline
KEY SKILL / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
3.1.TECHNICAL
3.1.1.FUNDAMENTALS
3.1.1.1.Good knowledge of workshop mechanical staffs such as fastener, fixtures, pneumatic units, linear motion guides, etc.
3.1.1.2.Working knowledge of electrical testing systems, such asmotorized drive system, DAQ, Digital I/O, sensor, machine vision, etc.
3.1.1.3.Mathematical and statistical aptitude.
3.1.1.4.Ability to operate sophisticated lab equipment.MTS Universal Test System is preferred.SmartScope Vision Measuring System is a plus.
3.1.1.5.Ability to develop and document new test procedures as appropriate.
3.1.1.6.Conceptualize designs as they relate to test fixture and test equipment capabilities.
3.1.1.7.Capacity to learn new equipment skills and apply these tothe test needs of the requestor.
3.1.1.8.Basic electronic knowledge is preferred.
3.1.1.9.Knowledge of measurement system assessment and maintenance to make sure the compliance with Quality system.
3.1.2.COMMUNICATION
3.1.2.1.Competent technical report writing, data analysis and oral communication skills.
3.1.3.SELF SUFFICIENCY
3.1.3.1.Able to work independently in performing assigned tasks.
3.1.3.2.Able to organize and document tasks to achieve assignment objectives.
3.1.4.COMPUTER SKILLS:
3.1.4.1.Effectively manipulate text and data files within WindowsOS.
3.1.4.2.Basicsoftware development tools such as Lab View, Lab Windows,Visual C; Visual Basic will be a plus.
3.2.EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years in a lab / testing environment
4.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1.R&D TEST TECHNICIAN:
4.1.1.Plan, execute or assist in tests and experiments to evaluate performance of devices.
4.1.2.Assure that equipment is maintained and calibrated.
4.1.3.Develop test methods as applicable and write protocols and reports.
4.1.4.Assist engineer in test development, process validation and documentation.
4.1.5.Perform departmental administrative duties as required, forequipment, safety, tools sign-in and sign out
JOB DESCRIPTION
4.1.6.Lead training sessions for the use of state-of-the-art, new, novel, software and equipment.
4.1.7.Design and develop advanced mechanical test hardware product testapplications.
4.1.8.Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.
5.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office and laboratory environment.Location: Shanghai.
6.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None.
7.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Domestic and international travel, as required.
