Purpose of the position
Reporting to Director GBS PD, you are the main interface with vendors on behalf of the BUs in new product development and 1st PO management.
The role will take responsibility for translating new products (including normal products and fast track products) from product brief into PO ready, including selecting vendors, getting quotations, requesting and validating samples / counter samples, etc. And the role also has responsibility to track 1st PO for the new products until the PO is cut. The role also conducts market trend research and provides inputs/ideas for new product development.
You will work closely with category managers, vendors, designers, Sourcing and Operations teams. This position will give exposure to both the end market and supply market to drive for best product innovation , profitability and efficiency.
Major responsibilities
Responsible for translating new products from product brief into PO ready, tracking 1st PO for the new products until the PO is cut. Also responsible for market trend study.
? Conduct ongoing trend research and identify hot products
? Provide inputs for category / brand plan development
? Provide inputs for fast track products selection
? Provide input to category managers to build up product specifications
? Provide cost engineering recommendation to category managers
? Receive product brief from category managers in EU/US, select related vendors from database and get quotations/samples from the vendors
? Develop and administer new vendors for new SKU when there is none in existing database
? Coordinate with Category Managers, Vendors, Sourcing and Operations teams to ensure product development schedules are maintained
? Work with QA teams on product compliance and ensure new products meet legal requirements
? Request samples/counter samples for new products from vendors, check quality and coordinate with category managers to validate pricing and samples/counter samples
? Create Product Approval Form
? Manage all order related issues until PO is cut for 1st PO of new product
? Attend fairs for new product generation and price benchmarking
? Present ongoing product ideas; manufacturing methods and decoration innovation
? Assist in competitive analysis to stay on top of industry trends
Requirement:
? 1 years merchandising/sourcing experience
? If worked for promotion business related it is plus
? Preferrably Familiar to Cut & Sew products
? Dedicated, committed, positive and good learner
? Persistent and ‘’keep trying’’ attitude
? Good communication and interpersonal skill in both English and Mandarin.
? Good at Powerpoint/Excel/outlook
