New Product Specialist
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting for a New Products Specialist. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Our company manufactures consumer products found in most major retail stores such as shower curtain rods, liners and rings, as well as mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, and wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The New Product Specialist’s role is to be the liaison between the Global Sourcing Team in the US and our vendors in China regarding new products. This person will be responsible for communications and reporting regarding the new products quotation process based on requests received from our Marketing team. This involves the Request for Quote (RFQ) process including asking for quotes, analyzing costs, requesting samples,etc until final vendor selection and approval is completed. This position reports to the New Products Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
? Thoroughly review and understand the RFQ’s and effectively communicate the requirements to our vendors
? Provide guidance and feedback to vendors as required and request assistance from US staff as appropriate to keep the project moving
? Meet cost and sample due dates to ensure project stays on schedule
? Analyze information returned from vendors to make sure it is reasonable and provide recommendations
? Report key dates and other information back to US office as required
? Keep RFQ information well-organized and track the status of all requests
? Sourcing, qualifying, sampling, testing, costing, negotiating, and terms are all topics that will likely be discussed during the RFQ process
? Expediting open projects, costs, and samples as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
? BS/BA in Engineering or Business
? Minimum of 2 years experience in sourcing or related field
? Highly proficient in MS Office (Advanced in Excel)
? Ability to understand engineered or technical drawings
? Strong English Skills in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
? Strong analytical ability
? Ability to multi-task
? Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
? Strong written and verbal communication
? High attention to detail
? Willing to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
? Experience with housewares products is preferred
