Junior Industrial Designer
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting for a Junior Industrial Designer. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Our company manufactures consumer products found in most major retail stores such as shower curtain rods, liners and rings, as well as mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, and wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The Junior Industrial Designer's role is to assist in the creation and development of new product ideas in conjunction with the Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to launch into production for our large retail customers. This position reports to the R&D Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
? 2+ years of design experience
? BS/BFA in Industrial Design/Product Design, or applicable work experience.
? Professional sketching, visualization, and rendering skills
? Solid Works 3-D Modeling experienceand Engineering Control Drawing experience
? Good understanding of manufacturing techniques, materials and processes
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator and freehand is a plus
? Good written and verbal communication skills in English
? Ability to articulate design theories, process and methods
? Assist Senior Designer as required
? Conceptualize and design innovative product solutions
Preferred Experience:
? Ready to Assemble (RTA) furniture for mass retail
? Wire and metal tubular products
? Plastic and Rubber materials
? Designing for mass retail
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
? Ability to multi-task
? Effectively participate in brainstorming sessions and generate innovative concepts
? Model Making or Prototype fabrication
? Refined sense of style and form
? Mechanical aptitude
? Experience Working with Major US Retailers:Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kmart, Target, JC Penney, Others(Please include a list of retail companies you have developed products forand include pictures or renderings of examples along with your resume for this position.)
