SUMMARY:
You will support Cree’s Lighting organization to proactively seek effective suppliers who can meet Cree’s expectations for quality, sustainability, technical competency, reliability and cost competitiveness through supplier evaluations, visits and formal quality audits. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing supplier improvement initiatives related to Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARS), component nonconformities and supplier continuous improvement projects. Further responsibilities include supporting part qualifications and supplier RoHS audits/ verifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for Cree’s diverse lighting product portfolio
? Perform supplier audits to assess competence in quality management system (based on ISO 9001:2008 or TS16949:2002), technical capabilities, RoHS, sustainability, etc. Document and report on supplier evaluation, including risks and competencies
? Work with manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, R&D to determine future needs and requirements in suppliers and supplied products
? Manage the Quality section of the Supplier Scorecard
? Lead supplier qualification process
? Ensure the Cree specifications and quality requirements are understood and agreed upon with the supplier
? Work with manufacturing and engineering to support component qualification with supplier and drive improvement, as required
? Support development on new tooling qualification, including corrective action and documentation
? Ensure supplier capabilities and limitations are understood and communicated
? Assess supplier RoHS capabilities and audit suppliers for RoHS adherence and traceability
? Generate Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARS) and drive root cause and corrective action with suppliers
? Work with suppliers (on-site) for immediate problem containment to ensure minimal impact to Cree’s 24/7 manufacturing processes
? Follow-up on SCAR corrective/ preventive actions to ensure effectiveness
? Support lighting product builds at OEM/ ODM factories, ensuring Cree’s expectations for product conformance and quality are exceeded
? Support corrective action validation at Cree’s manufacturing facilities
? Support Cree’s supplier evaluation and scorecard processes to ensure effective continuous improvement in supply chain
? Generate metrics (KPIs) and present to suppliers along with improvement plans/ expectations
? Track supplier improvement initiatives ensuring continuous improvement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? 3+ Years Quality Engineering (preferable supplier quality)
? BS Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines
? Must be able to travel internationally without restriction
? Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Mandarin
? 3+ Years experience with ISO9001:2008 or TS16949:2002 Quality Management Systems
? 2+ Years experience with ISO9001:2008 auditing (internal or external auditing)
? Practical experience and knowledge of printed circuit board (SMA/ SMT) manufacturing
? Practical experience and knowledge of electronic systems (power supplies)
? Strong statistical analysis skills
? Must be independent, highly motivated, hard working, influential leader
? Experience with continuous improvement processes such as Lean methodologies and root cause analysis techniques

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? 5+ Years Quality Engineering experience, including ISO9001:2008 compliance auditing
? Six Sigma black belt
? LED or lighting industry experience
? Practical experience and knowledge of mechanical component fabrication (stamping, extrusions, molding, etc.)
