Business Development Manager,China
Location: Beijing, China
Reporting to: GBD Director, Asia
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Business Development Director, Asia, the incumbent will be responsible for developing a pipeline of licensing opportunities across Global Business Development’s areas of responsibility in China mainly and with possibilities to expand to other countries in Asia, including the licensing of (1) all OUP content in China; (2) all OUP dictionary content in Asia, including the Global Language Solutions business; (3) all Oxford Education digital content in Asia and (4) the licencing and business development of all Global Academic content in Asia.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Source and grow a sustainable pipeline of licensing revenues with technology partners from both hardware and online services sectors in China;
2. Expand the business and revenues with the current customers
3. Work with internal stakeholders across Rights and other business functions to provide excellent customer service to leads existing customers;
4. Work with Legal team to draft contracts and all relevant legal documents
5. Monitor and respond to market trends and identify emerging potential customers of interest;
6. Assume responsibility for existing customers where necessary and provide immediate and responsive service to grow business; and
7. Continually strive to develop greater understanding of stakeholder copyrights and products such as Global Language Solutions (GLS) including participating on conference calls, exhibitions and trade shows

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor’s degree holder with at least 8 years working experiences including 5 years of business development experience;
? Passionate in working with customers, with proven track record in developing new clients;
? Flexible and collaborative working style, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships;
? High standard of business ethics and professionalism for self and others;
? Strong critical thinking skills, with the flexibility to respond to changing situations, shifting priorities, and new opportunities; and
? High level of self-motivation and ability to work remotely while maintaining focus on objectives
? Strong communication skills; fluent English is a must.
