SENIOR MERCHANDISER - Home Appliances, Household goods, Gadgets
We are a Hong Kong based Western owned company in the sourcing and trading industry operating more than 12 years with main office in Hong Kong and branch office in Shenzhen and Shaoxing. we have an immediate opening for a Merchandiser with broad product knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Represent company’s interests and act as primary contact for vendors in the area
- Sourcing of a wide range of products for the European market: electrical home appliances, household, toys, stationary, gadgets, outdoor goods, sports products
- Selection and evaluation of new vendors and factories who can fulfill the quality and safety standards of our client
- Preparation of quotations, sample development & order follow up until shipment
- Liaise on a daily basis with the company’s Shenzhen and Hong Kong team; reporting to Shenzhen team leader
Requirements :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing & merchandising for the European market; Knowledge of electrical appliances is preferred.
- Familiar with quality and safety requirements for European countries
- Hands-on approach, common sense and problem solving skills
- Strong negotiator to deal with vendors and control factories
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and under minimal supervision
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin
- Willing to travel occasionally
