Supplier Quality Technician


BASIC FUNCTION

The Supplier Quality Technician will be responsible for auditing the manufacturing processes of key suppliers to specification, written procedures, and established manufacturing and quality standards. The Supplier Quality Technician will spend the majority of their time on-site at the supplier. They will be on the front line of our quality program reporting progress on corrective actions, assisting in FAI, box audits, schedules etc. The Supplier Technician will help review proposed mfg processes, suggest improvements, perform quality audits and inspections and review qualification results. The SQT should have a good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) as this position will report quality information back to the Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Group Leader and Chief Quality Engineer. The Quality Technician will personally monitor quality plans, audits, corrective actions and processes. Additionally, the SQT will monitor and drive through Corrective Action and root cause analysis of any issue found as well as foster continuous improvement.



EDUCATION / TRAINING

Degree:
· Technical degree and 3+ years experience in assembly manufacturing and/or quality fields.

· Familiar with SPC and process capability a plus. Any combination of education, training, and work experience which indicates to hiring authorities that an individual is likely to be successful in this position may be accepted in lieu of an engineering degree.

· Able to work independently with little direction.


· 3 - 5 years' experience in an engineering/Quality related field.

* Fluency in English and Mandarin required.

*Competent computer database / spreadsheet / word processing abilities / Timelines

*DFMEA & PFMEA experience strongly preferred

SUPERVISION

1. Indirect for purposes of specification, development, and training.

2. Must have the ability to work without direct supervision and make decisions based on analytical data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Audit supplier processes per schedule

a) Perform box audits of product per schedule and as needed

b) Provide summary of process and box audits to SQE

c) Approve parts for shipment when required

2) Issue resolution

a) Ensures that supplier adequately contains non-conforming parts and materials.

b) Notifies SQE of issues when necessary

c) Helps with the release of product if a deviation (PUP) is approved

d) Audits corrective actions put in place by supplier (RCCA)

3) Project support

a) Audits processes against preliminary control plans for new products

b) Assists with validation and FAI completion at the supplier




TRAVEL

Domestic (Mainland China and Taiwan) travel will be required to support supplier factories in Taiwan, Shenzhen and Shanghai as well as sub-tier supplier facilities when necessary. Occasional international travel to corporate headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin USA may be required.
