The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the HKSAR Government in 2000 with a mission of enhancing Hong Kong's competitiveness in technology based industries through applied research. Owing to the continuous expansion in our R&D activities, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the position(s):

Job Duty:

• Research, design, implement, document and test components for:
  - LTE Packet Core Software, or
  - Carrier Grade Management Systems Software, or
  - Internet of Things Software


• Follow the software engineering process to generate high-quality software products


• Provide technical support to customers when needed

Requirement:

• Bachelor degree with 6 years relevant experience, Master degree with 3+ years' experience; or PhD holder with less experience. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineer.


• Experience in software engineering of protocol stacks, network equipments, large scale/ carrier grade software and Linux kernel


• Solid knowledge and experience with Java, C++ and C


• Solid knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/UDP/SNMP/IP, and sockets


• Experience with AJAX, Javascript, CCS and HTML preferred


• Experience in IP based communications networks (IP networks - routing, switching, LTE evolved packet system)


• Experience in network equipment hardware platforms (e.g. TCA) would be a plus


• Fluent in English, good written and oral communication skills

Appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work under a five-day week schedule.
