The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the HKSAR Government in 2000 with a mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness in technology based industries through applied research. Owing to the continuous expansion in our R&D activities, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

Job Duty:
Responsible for the research and development of Lithium-ion battery (LIB) components, such as cathode active materials, and etc.
Responsible for the research and development of process methodology including for scale up fabrication.
Responsible for the processing system installation and operation.
Generate creative suggestion and innovative idea in the R&D subject.
Participate in technology dissemination and industrial collaboration activities.
Assist in resolve technical problems related to binder synthesis and separator treatment.

Requirement:
Master or Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Materials, Chemical Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
Master degree holder with 3+ years’ relevant experiences or less experience requirement for Doctorate degree holder. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Engineer.
Trained in material synthesis or related discipline is a must.
Experience in LIB materialrelated discipline is a plus.
Experience in material fabrication on industrial plant is a plus.
Knowledge in Polymer science/engineering is a plus.
Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills; independent, responsible and aggressive character.
Good command of English, fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work under a five-day week schedule.
