Key responsibilities:

· Examine gems during processing to ensure accuracy of angles and positions of cuts or bores

· Ensure all materials meet Access Operations’ leading quality standards

· Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

· Examine gem surfaces and internal structures, to detect flaws, defects, or peculiarities affecting gem values.

· Advise client and others on the best use of gems to create attractive and quality jewelry item.

· Inspect and problem-solve material selection process

· Communicate findings to Head of Access Operations, vendor, supply based team and jewelry consultants as appropriate

· Perform appraisal work and make recommendation

Knowledge&experience:

· GIA Diamond Diploma; Graduate Gemologist diploma preferred

· 3+ years in quality assurance

· In depth knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

· Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task and accept direction, as well as operate independently in a fast-paced environment

· Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills

· Ability to problem-solve independently and as a team - ability to identify issues, make recommendations, and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.

· Results oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
