Principal Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform daily logistics administration and operation in an efficient and effective manner.
- Communicate with suppliers to coordinate delivery and monitor daily shipments operation flow to ensure on time delivery.
- Liaise and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis to anticipate, address and prevent potential issues from happening, or resolve issues in consultation with the Logistic Manager prior to execution. Stakeholders refers to US counterparts, merchandising, Operations, QA & Finance teams, 3rd party logistics providers etc.
- Optimize business priorities and develop day-to-day business activities to meet the service and quality goals, primarily relating to the logistics process, specifically from shipment bookings to departure, and to the destination (ie DCs).
- Support the consolidation and maximization of containers utilization – load plan calculation per DCs.
- Maintain good business relationship and act as the bridge between the suppliers, THT and the 3rd party logistics providers.
- Provide accurate and updated information to all key stakeholders:
- Provide guidance and support to cross functional team members and suppliers to :
- Avoid delays or rectify errors in issuance/delivery of bookings and related shipping documents& supplier invoice.
- Follow and comply with the defined guidelines in booking, delivery, documentation and related logistics areas.
- Provide necessary shipping instructions and advice to suppliers or THT related parties.
- Constantly improve the efficiency of delivery (transport optimization)
- Regularly review own work procedure and continuously seek areas of improvement.
- Maintain an organized and effective recordkeeping system; file and archive documents related to delivery.
Prepare weekly OTD analysis report, or other logistics reports, when required.
Provide guidance to Logistics Coordinator.
Assist Logistics Specialist in handling the daily supplier non-compliance work.
To be a “super user” for Forwarders Systems (i.e., Griffin) and provide training and support to internal users.
To ensure all internal and external logistics SOP’s are kept up to date and reviewed by all relevant parties.
Perform other tasks or activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
University graduate in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or equivalent discipline.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience gained in the retail industry, or sourcing / trading company, or customer service in freight forwarding company, 2 years of which in similar capacity.
Previous experience in multinational or sizeable companies highly preferred.
Prior experience in handling overseas shipments is a definite advantage.
Prior experience in using logistics ERP system is preferred.
Knowledge of relevant export requirements to USA is highly preferred.
Knowledge of the different distribution methods and the entire logistics flow/supply chain.
Expertise in shipment and import/export document preparation.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. A team player.
Good common sense, analytical and problem solving skills. A fast learner.
Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Well organized and detailed oriented.
Positive and can-do attitude. Result-oriented. Ability to work under pressure.
Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
Proficient in using MS Office (ie Outlook, Word). Excellent Excel skills.
