Responsibilities

- Develops and maintains test automation tools and scripts.
- Assumes ownership of all phases, including design, implementation, execution, maintenance, and expansion of test tools and framework.
- Executing firmware system tests and documentation.
- Evaluating, testing, and reviewing firmware to determine if program performance meets design requirements, provides valid and accurate results, operates reliably, and conforms to established standards.
- Provides technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
- Writes and updates test plans and test cases ensuring total quality coverage of firmware
- Communicates effectively and in a timely manner to stakeholders, especially during release testing cycle.


Requirements
- BS in CS, EE, Math or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years in firmware quality assurance projects.
- Previous experience testing gaming, toys or other learning devices based on embedded Linux.
- Has extensive experience architecting and implementing test tools and automation.
- Proficiency in programming for test automation (C++/C#, shell).
- Nice to have Java, Python
- Some experience with Agile and Scrum
- Extensive experience with Linux kernel, drivers, and APIs.
- Experience testing consumer products and/or services.
- Demonstrable ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Working knowledge of SQA methodology for complex integrated systems implementations.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of testing methodology and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and desire for quality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must possess ability to manage multiple priorities in time-sensitive situations and ambiguous requirements.
- Proven track record in driving the successful release of software products to production/market.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter who assumes ownership of areas of responsibility.
- Passion for high quality engineering.
