KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Functional Leadership:
Ensure Old Navy China including Field/stores have a clear HR strategy and plans.
Lead the China HR team in delivering these plans.
Motivate and develop the HR Team to achieve the highest levels of performance and contribution.
Develop and coach the HR Team to achieve the highest level of professional standards.
Staffing and Retention:
Ensure detailed manpower plans exist in all areas of the China Field / stores and that there is a strong talent bench in the market.
Ensure that the Old Navy China leadership team understand all resourcing and retention metrics and their impact.
Ensure there is a clear vision in all areas of the business of what good looks like and appropriate plans exist to raise and improve the standards of people through resourcing opportunities.
Partner with China Talent Acquisition Team to lead China Field / stores resourcing activity up to and including Leadership Team roles.
Ensure all resourcing plans and processes and practices are regularly benchmarked and result in the China market sourcing high quality candidates.
Organisation Design and Change Management:
Work with business partners to identify, shape, and introduce organisation changes, which support business plans and improve effectiveness.
Ensure the business has a framework for change management and that Managers and Associates are appropriately trained.
Leadership and Talent Management:
Ensure the Old Navy China Leadership and Management teams have a clear understanding of bench-strength and appropriate action plans are in place.
In collaboration with China partners, implement the appropriate leadership and management development processes and programmes.
Coach and support the Leadership Team and senior group.
Reward and Recognition:
Ensure Global/ China programmes are implemented as agreed.
Implement county specific reward initiatives as required to deliver business plans.
Contribute to the thinking and implementation of recognition approaches, which enable Old Navy China to motivate and retain high quality staff.
Learning & Development:
Partner with the L&D Team to develop and introduce a global curriculum.
Ensure the training delivery infrastructure throughout Field and stores.
Work with the L&D Team to ensure the Old Navy China Leadership Team understands all L&D metrics and their impact.
Employee Relations:
Develop a climate, which motivates Old Navy people and delivers the highest standards of employee relations.
Ensure compliance with all statutory legal and Gap Inc requirements.
Ensure line managers are fully trained in all employee relations areas.
Be pro-active in developing the thinking around areas, which develop competitive advantage e.g. working hours, work/life balance.
Performance Management:
Develop a climate, which achieves the highest level of organisational and individual performance.
Ensure line managers are fully trained in performance management processes.
Culture:
Be a champion for Gap Inc. "Wear Your Passion" culture.
Ensure all HR processes are aligned and reflect the Gap culture, working in collaboration with the relevant local and global HR Groups.
Implement processes, which measure employee engagement eg. Your Voice survey
Identify, champion and monitor key actions which will increase employee engagement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
University graduate
8+ years experience in Human Resources Management
Progression within an organisation known for excellence of HR policies and practices.
Multi-site environment.
Customer facing environment.
Good strategist coupled with desire and ability to be hands-on.
Generalist experience, preferably with deep specialist knowledge in learning, development and talent management and staffing.
Good knowledge of employment law.
High energy/pace.
High level of confidence.
Results orientated.
Good coach/developer of people.
Well-developed business partnering skills.
Thrives and functions effectively in a matrix environment.
Highest levels of professionalism / integrity.
