Job Purpose:

Manage and support all the technical requirements of a graphics production site in Shenzhen, China.
Oversee various systems’ deployment, training and improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of our production teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with standard graphics industry software, and will have experience in a similar type of role ideally in a packaging artwork / production artwork / prepress / printing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Oversee the implementation and effective usage of our ERP/MIS systems, existing technologies such as Adobe CS/CC, Esko Automation Engine & DeskPack, UTS (Extensis), etc.
- Organise regular training to both production operators and customer service teams, equipping them with the necessary technical knowledge to fulfil the client’s requirements
- Contribute technical knowledge and advice on regular internal team and external client calls and meetings, to ensure smooth running of technical projects. Act as a key technical communicator between the Asian business, Matthews’ global offices and clients
- Track and manage costs of all technology requirements including hardware and software
- Manage the business automation requirements, analyse and search for new opportunities to avoid repetitive work and improve consistency
- Work with our IT development team to ensure our tools and technologies are synced, managing data effectively and gaining the most we can from the software

Communications:

- Reporting to General Manager of the Shenzhen production facility
- Participate on regional calls in Chinese and English to align on best practices and new initiatives as well as to offer or seek support from other sites
- Close communication and training with teams in Shenzhen in Mandarin, to ensure systems are effective and under constant review for improvement
- Communicate with regional and global technical teams

Skills and Experience:

- 5+ Years experience in a similar role either Packaging Artwork, Prepress, Print and Packaging industries
- Good leadership skills and the ability to manage up, across and down the organisation
- Strong communicator in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken
- Good understanding of the packaging graphics industry, including the packaging lifecycle process and all related software
- Strong technical ability and meticulous attention to detail
- Able to experiment with new ideas and try different approaches to challenges

Location & Travel:
Based in Shenzhen, China. Must be available to travel in China and globally a few times per year.
