Position Objective:

The Supplier Quality/ Process Engineer plays a pivotal role in the success of Avnan’s quality system. As a Supplier Quality/ Process Engineer, you will assist the Quality Supervisor on new product introductions, product inspections and audits at Avnan supplier facilities. You will create and maintain quality/ process procedures, conduct product inspections and supplier audit activities. You will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of the quality process, implementing improvements while keeping quality costs down.

Key Duties:

New product Introductions

? Assist the Quality Supervisor on new product introductions and or transfers with Avnan suppliers
? Execute medium-scale, projects from prototypes through to mass production
? Liaise between Avnan head office and Chinese factories to resolve manufacturing issues
? Verifying manufacturing processes, work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout
? Assist (on as needed basis) with establish manufacturing and quality plans and ensure suppliers staff understand and follow these plans

Supplier Quality Control

? Work with the team to qualify new suppliers
? Review and help the supplier improve their own QC processes.
? Audit suppliers’ quality systems, production and quality processes and records
? Find practical and logical solutions to quality problems and ensure that these solutions are implemented
? Monitor and follow up with factories to ensure all SCARs are addressed
? Conduct root cause analysis
? Aid with PPAP submittal
? Schedule and carry out sufficient product inspections on location at suppliers
? Summarize and present inspection findings
? Ensure suppliers have and use the most up to date revisions of drawings
? Review Suppliers drawings and specification to that of Avnan provided documentation

Key Requirements:

? Post-secondary degree in Engineering- either Electrical or Electronics
? At least 5 years’ experience in quality control, inspection
? Thorough understanding of quality tools and concepts (DVP, FMEA, 8D, etc)
? Experience working in a quality/process role with suppliers
? Good knowledge of oscilloscope, multi-meter, and PCs
? Project Management experience
? Written and spoken English (CET 4) and Mandarin
? Use of hand and power tools to make prototypes, fixtures, jigs
? Experience working with an ERP system (Epicor is preferred)
? Experience working within a small company
? Ability to create positive working relationships with co-workers and supplier contacts
? Assertive, with ability to successfully work with suppliers to achieve results
