Job Purpose Statement
Reporting to the Director of Global Procurement, this Director level role will lead and develop all Asia–Pacific sourcing/procurement related projects including the creation and management of category strategies, competitive bidding
contracting/negotiating, supplier segmentation, score-carding and evaluation. This position requires the ability to understand CTP's global/regional business strategies and related
business unit objectives, particularly as they relate to strategic sourcing, category and supplier management processes.
The Asia-Pacific Director must demonstrate industry-leading knowledge and expertise in global procurement of raw materials and related products, purchasing concepts, processes and systems. The Asia-Pacific Director must have the ability to develop this expertise throughout the regional procurement organization. The position requires excellent
focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid
execution and a commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations.
The position reports to the CTP Global Director of Procurement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Work with category stakeholders and business partners to implement procurement policies and procedures
2 Management of Commodity procurement supporting a global supplier chain and CTP’s manufacturing locations in Asia-Pacific region.
3 Perform in-depth industry analysis to uncover the key dynamics driving the behaviors of the suppliers and markets relating to the relevant commodities.
4 Manage/develop all aspects of the strategic sourcing of projects consisting of cross functional and regional teams including strategy development, supply market analysis, RFP creation and analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation
5 Provide robust project management ensuring all dates and commitments are met
6 Measure and track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact
7 Develop and implement forward-thinking initiatives to enhance departmental responsiveness
8 Oversee preparation and dissemination of information regarding contract status, compliance and changes
9 Performs fact based analysis to allow for objective decision making, including TCO opportunities
10 Creates and manages the implementation of programs to assess and promote supplier performance and development
Required Experience and Education:
1 7-10 years of professional experience in sourcing and procurement with a deep understanding of best practices and world-class processes for sourcing and category management
2 Deep category sourcing experience within tire, wheel or automotive industries
3 Ability to identify and quantify legitimate areas of business benefit (cost savings/avoidance, client satisfaction, quality improvement, etc.)
4 Previous experience in leading cross functional teams in complex activities that crossover departmental, geographic and business entity
5 Knowledge of business principles such as procurement, sourcing, contracting, negotiating, finance and accounting.
6 Experience in preparing and presenting reports and briefings to Sr. Management
7 Experience leading sourcing teams and procurement resources
8 Excellent communication skills inclusive of English
9 Demonstrated experience in eProcurement technology - preferred
10 Global Organization Skills: Ability to work across different cultures
11 Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%
