Mission: Summarize the purpose of the position (why the job exists within the organization)

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the activity and documentation of the new tool (mold, die, die casting & etc...) developments for the OCP projects under the tooling functional support of the BU
Retail Industrialization APAC. As being tooling coordinator who works between Ind. Mechanical Component Engineers, OD, Quality, Suppliers and related parties to support Ind. Tooling Manager to
manage the performance of Tools Industrialization APAC under ISO9001 quality system.
Tooling Coordinater is also responsible for obtaining qalified mechanica parts (plastic or metallic) according to the schedules of small OCP projects
It is expected that new tool development is effectively monitored in accordance with project plan and schedule with regular updating and reporting. All Tooling Deliverables are checked to be available
with project plan and schedule on time.

Key responsibilities / activities: Describe the main responsibilities (4 to 8) that directly aim at the realization of the purpose of the job. List in order of priority. Be precise and quantify the scope of
responsibilities wherever possible.

1.New Product
· Obtaining qualified mechanical components together with all required deliverable in accordance with OCP project schedule
· Review component design with Mechanical Part Design Engineer and negotiate improvement to them in terms of manufacturability, quality, tooling cost, part price and lead time delivery
· Develop "Tooling Specifications"
· Review Suppliers Tool design and negotiate any improvement to them in terms of part quality, tooling quality, tooling cost and lead time.
· Management of Part Qualification to ensure it is in line with design.
· Review of design to optimise usage of raw material and maximise tooling capability
· Oversee and follow up tool development for stakeholders and participate as an active member of OCP project team to provide required tool supporting function.
· Coordinate with OD, Tooling Supplier, GSC Tooling, Purchasing and other related parties so as to achieve smooth tool development process
· Manage and follow up to get the shortest possible tool delivery time
· Going through check list and =S= tool quality requirements with tooling suppliers
· Inspect tool against fabrication drawing and design files and confirm suitability of tool against part requirements
· Review and follow-up the reporting from tooling suppliers, e.g. moulding card, metrology report & etc…
· Preparation of all necessary reports and documentations for tool follow-up in professional ways

2.Tooling Development and Management
· Updating tooling development progress documents or reports with Ind. Mechancial Component Engineers, Parts Engineers or other parties and distribute them regularly to all parties concerned
· Preparation of different kind of required documents to meet the goals/objectives of Tools Industrialization and update them from time to time as specified
· Collecting data and preparing KPI and other tooling development and status reporting
· Preparation of all necessary reports and documentations in professional ways
· New tool trial run sample control and management, e.g. packaging, storage, delivery, record, scrapping & etc...

3.ISO9001 Quality System
· To be the representative of ISO9001 quality system of Tools Industrialization APAC in China
· ISO9001 document management and filing & maintenance of the deliverables of related working instructions
· Monitoring the operation of ISO quality system and reporting any deviation by escalation whenever it is found

4.Business Partnering
· Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships across the business.
· Ensure sound understanding of the requirements and expectations
· Communicate and facilitate visits and asessments, tooling problem resolution with OD, Suppliers, GSC and Quality teams
· Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship, building trust, confidence and respect
· Adhere to established standard, procedure and escalation of significant issues

5.Health, Safety and the Environment
· Actively support operational work systems that allow people to keep safe
· Advocate behaviour that encourages all team members to operate and manage a safe work enviroment
· Monitor consistency of safe and environmental standards for work
· Participate and support the RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) program

Requirements

Education - Level of education required (Mandatory schooling, Vocational education, Specialized school, Undergraduate, University degree, PhD)

1.University degree in tooling/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent

2.Basic tooling design and manufacturing knowledge

Language requirements

1.Fluent English and Mandarin

2.Cantonese would be an advantage

3.Good written and oral communication

Experience - Total number of years of professional experience necessary prior to the job entry

1.2~4 years working experience in tooling office of EMS industry under ISO9001 quality system

2.Demonstrated ability to deal and work with professional people and suppliers

Skills requirements

1.Good time management to achieve effective work and work quality

2.A team player with good interpersoal skill

3.Knowledge of ISO9001 quality system and operational environment, ISO 9001 auditor would be an advantage

4.Good knowledge of reading and understanding part drawing with related drafting and drawing standards

5.Good knowledge of tooling making process and mechanical part approval process

6.Good background in plastic molding or stamping process

7.Having good communication skill to work with people

8.Willing to work with people and good organization capability

9.Good computer knowledge and literacy in computer application softwar, e.g. MS office

10.Proficiency in typing skill in both English and Chinese

11.Capable of completing each reasonable job within reasonable time

12.Willing to learn through on-job training or by training provided if an appropriate
