职位描述

Mission:Summarize the purpose of the position (why the job exists within the organization)

The Industrialisation Mechanical Component Enigineer is responsible for controlling the process obtaining qualified mechanical parts (plastic or metallic) according to project schedules (new or existing

products).

The purpose of the roles:

· Collaborate with Research and Development and Project Management to ensure manufacturability of the components (Offer Creation Process)

· Delivers technical and economical information necessary to assess product and project costs.

· Participates to the definition of the best industrial scenario.

· Specifies implements and qualifies tooling and processes to obtain mechanical parts at targeted cost, time and quality levels.

· Provide its technical expertise to R&D, manufacturing plants, purchasing and sub-contractors.


Key responsibilities / activities: Describe the main responsibilities (4 to 8) that directly aim at the realization of the purpose of the job. List in order of priority. Be precise and quantify the scope of

responsibilities wherever possible.

1.New Product

· Obtaining qualified mechanical components together with all required deliverable in accordance with OCP project schedule

· Review component design with Mechanical Part Design Engineer and negotiate improvement to them in terms of manufacturability, quality, tooling cost, part price and lead time delivery

· Develop "Tooling Specifications"

· Review Suppliers Tool design and negotiate any improvement to them in terms of part quality, tooling quality, tooling cost and lead time.

· Management of Part Qualification to ensure it is in line with design.

· Utilisation of software packages to analyse flow of mould and injection point to get the best parts

· Review of design to optimise usage of raw material and maximise tooling capability

· Oversee and follow up tool development for stakeholders and participate as an active member of OCP project team to provide required tool supporting function.

· Coordinate with OD, Tooling Supplier, GSC Tooling, Purchasing and other related parties so as to achieve smooth tool development process

· Manage and follow up to get the shortest possible tool delivery time

· Going through check list and =S= tool quality requirements with tooling suppliers

· Inspect tool against fabrication drawing and design files and confirm suitability of tool against part requirements

· Review and follow-up the reporting from tooling suppliers, e.g. moulding card, metrology report & etc…

· Preparation of all necessary reports and documentations for tool follow-up in professional ways


2.Existing Product

· Review and assess new requirement in conjunction with relevant business unit, e.g. production, R&D, Logistics & etc…

· Implementation of tooling change to suppliers

· Management of the deviations to ensure tool is updated with part design change via Engineering Change Process

· Active input into Engineering Change Process to ensure tooling viability

Requirements

Education - Level of education required (Mandatory schooling, Vocational education, Specialized school, Undergraduate, University degree, PhD)

1.University degree in tooling/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent

2.Apropriate tooling design and manufacturing qualification


Language requirements

1.English and Mandarin

2.Cantonese would be an advantage

3.Good written and oral communication


Experience - Total number of years of professional experience necessary prior to the job entry

1.8~10 years working experience in tooling design, manufacturing and project follow-up in EMS industry under ISO9001 quality system

2.Demonstrated ability to lead tooling suppliers with 3~4 years practical experience


Skills requirements

1.Strong knowledge of tooling design and manufacturing, especially Dolly, Socket, Switch, Base, Gridplate & etc…

2.Strong knowledge of the project management of the tool development and realization for new mechanical component

3.Strong background in plastic molding or stamping process or both and knowing other mechanical compenent making process is advantage

4.Good knowledge of general mechancial part approval procedure and how to control plastic / metal part quality level

5.Having good leadership to work as key tooling functional position

6.Trained in the use of both 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software, e.g. Pro/E, AutoCAD, Unigraphs and SolidWorks. Experience in the use of Microsoft suit packages

7.Good knowledge of reading and understanding part drawing with related drafting and drawing standards

8.Good knowledge of Six Sigma quality approach, green or black belt would be advantage
