Avnan is a Canadian owned company that has been operating in Shenzhen since 2006. Our dedicated Shenzhen staff works closely with our Canadian office, collaborating on design, testing, inspection and logistics, to ensure our customers receive high quality, 24 hour service. Our company is growing to include our own manufacturing facility, which means our Shenzhen office has grown steadily in the past year.

Position Objective:
The Purchasing Engineer will be responsible for managing Avnan’s supplier base, sourcing high quality products at competitive prices. You will also call upon your project management skills to interact with internal departments and suppliers to ensure that development opportunities move smoothly and on schedule.
Key Duties:
- Coordinate with Sales and Engineering departments and Suppliers to meet business development objectives and move opportunities through to production stage
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers
- Evaluate and approve sources of supply
- Source new parts/assemblies at competitive prices
- Maintain familiarity with the market for all parts purchased and negotiate with suppliers to keep costs low
- Supplier performance management
- Negotiate win-win solutions with the goal of avoiding cost increases
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time and to specification
- Expedite supplier orders to meet required delivery dates
- Communicate with suppliers regarding drawing changes
Key Requirements:
- Technical degree or diploma in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience (preferably electrical parts)
- Strong exposure to manufacturing
- Project management experience
- Technical understanding of electrical products
- Strong negotiation skills
- Must be a self-motivated person
