Gore Shenzhen Venting PEV (Portable Electronic Venting) team within the Industrial Products Division of W.L. Gore & Associates is looking for an energetic, flexible, organized and high performing experienced Process Engineer to provide product and manufacturing support for one of our fastest growing businesses. This associate must be able to multi-task and prioritize their activities within a rapid paced environment, have meticulous work practices and be team oriented.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be passionate about developing/validating new processes, new materials and new products, initiating and driving continuous improvement
• Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer/contract manufacturer and collaborating on cross-functional teams with effective communication
• Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships

Main responsibilities include:

• Work with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturer to develop and validate new processes, new materials, new products & new equipment
• Identify and drive process & equipment projects to continuously improve production for safety, quality, capability, capacity and cost reduction
• Trouble shoot manufacturing processes and drive root cause resolution of equipment and product quality upsets by using statistical methodology
• Provide daily process support for the manufacturing of existing products through regular interaction with the production team and deep knowledge of the production equipment
• Match fitness-for-use requirements to process measurements and set points
• Transfer knowledge to other technical and manufacturing associates via regular training and coaching
• Document your work with reports, tech notebooks and quality system entries

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering (Polymer, Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical, Material, etc.) and a minimum of 5 years process engineering experience on mass production
• Sound knowledge of engineering principles and demonstrated ability to apply them to troubleshoot equipment, processes, materials and quality issues
• Demonstrated ability to:
• Network and contribute effectively in cross-functional teams
• Evaluate multiple options to determine strategic approach,
• Prioritize and lead projects to completion
• Evidence of a continuous improvement mindset for optimizing testing/production processes
• Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills, including in English
• Flexibility to support off shift production and global teammates/customers in different time zones as necessary
• Willingness to travel frequently to support local & international contract manufacturing

The following skills would be an advantage:

• Experience with pressure-sensitive adhesives（压敏胶-商标胶纸行业）, die cutting or laser cutting process（磨切或镭射切）
• Experience with technical management of external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Experience of applying statistical tools such as SPC and designed experiments in manufacturing processes
• Experience of performing commercialization and/or validation activities
• Experience of applying AutoCAD/Lean Concepts/ Operational Excellence tools
