Key Accountabilities
1. Design Database Architectures.

2. Designs and builds relational databases.
3. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
4. Replication and Mirroring
5. Making sure the information is protected and backed-up, ensuring all the data complies with legal regulations Application of server patches, monitoring and forecasting of database and server storage(SAN)
6. Improving the technology used, and management of database monitoring tools through effective use of the database tools and services
i. Monitoring database performance,
ii. Indexes or inefficient indexing and fragmentation issues
iii. Locking/Blocking
iv. I/O Bottlenecks
v. Memory Pressure
vi. CPU Pressure
7. Building new databases
8. Monitoring data entry procedures
9. Troubleshooting


Knowledge & Experience
ODBC, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server (2000/2005/2008), DTS, SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server Clustering, Service Broker, Database mirroring, Log shipping, Replication, Redgate SQL backup, Multi-threading, Security, performance, normalization, minimizing maintenance, Backups

Providing technical and data leadership to the application development group, IT and the enterprise including being conversant with and cognizant of the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise.
Working closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future plans and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the database environment, the coordination of database upgrades and the installation of new database products.
Recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.

Ability to collaborate and cooperate with other members of team, and members of other teams.

Team player with good communication skills, customer-oriented, strong analytical skills in problem solving, responsible, independent and can work under pressure.

Ability to identify problems and issues (technical, process, people, etc.) encountered and highlight to managers.

Self-motivated and willing to take initiative to proactively solve problems.

Excellent knowledge of SQL Database systems and memory sizing, capacity planning, fault tolerance and systems redundancy strategies.

Experience in a multicultural environment - ability interact effectively in cross cultural

Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent.

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
