Responsibilities:

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / VALUE ADDED

• An experienced Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst for both a manufacturing plant located in SZ FTZ and a trading/manufacturing company outside the Free Trade Zone
• Responsible for all MCA related activities for one division, including outside processing and inventory reconciliation
• Act as an advisor to the various business teams for manufacturing related activities inside and outside the Free Trade Zone
• A member of the Asia Pacific Corporate Finance Team
• Fulfill additional regional and global commitments

Manufacturing Cost Analyst

• Understanding Gore’s standard costing setup and improving its accuracy
• Working with master data associates to maintain accurate item information, reviewing for obsolete items and maintaining accurate costing records as well as monitoring item data integrity
• Day-to-day costing activities and maintenance of item costing records
• Creating and maintaining work center rates
• Understanding and maintaining automatic accounting instructions for MCA in our ERP system (JDEdwards E1)
• Annual Global cost update.
• Completing month end manufacturing accounting procedures
• Monthly inventory reconciliation
• Explaining manufacturing variances including material variances, as well as scrap and purchase price variances
• Understanding transfer profit setup and how it relates to customs records
• Understanding duty and freight, how and when it should be applied to our products and ensuring accurate allocation to the various business units
• Understanding and analyzing true variable cost by product and business unit (standard vs actual), ability to answer questions from Product Range Managers and Product Specialists related to TVC’s in an easy and understandable language, following up on variances with business and functional teams
• Participating in year-end audit where needed

Business Partner

• Providing guidance to the Business teams from an MCA perspective for issues arising from daily operations
• Participating actively in new business model and supply chain discussions by providing insights and advice on potential process issues related to MCA and risk associated with those
• Working closely with divisional business analysts, divisional accounting leaders and MCA’s in other regions
• Participating in divisional projects

Local Finance Team member

• Sharing knowledge with and providing guidance to the other MCA’s in the plant
• Actively trying to identify areas for improvement and initiating process optimization within the MCA function
• Providing backup support when appropriate

Regional/global role

• Participating in projects to support the Regional and Global Finance Team
• Being an active member of the Regional Finance team
• Working closely with Regional Tax and Technical Accounting associate

Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar position
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing accounting and product costing
• Solid understanding of PRC local statutory accounting requirements and tax regulations for manufacturing plants
• Experience in customs procedures and foreign exchange control regulations (SAFE)
• US-GAAP knowledge
• Experience in ERP systems (JDEdwards E1 preferred)
• Proficiency in Excel
• Understanding of business intelligence tools (Cognos, Discoverer etc.)
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Comfortable working in an unstructured environment and managing changing priorities
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
• Networking skills: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships in the plant and on a regional / global level
• Possesses strong passion, curiosity, initiative and work ethic
• Strong positive influencing skills, ability to gain consensus from key stakeholders
• Travel is required, it is around 10% of working time.
