Summary

Responsible for Mad Catz NPD/QA/QC testing of new products and to carry out compatibility, verification and Beta testing as appropriate.

Responsibilities

1. Compatibility testing of PC/Console/GameSmart products that operate on the following OS's, Win/Mac/MFi/Android/Steam/Linux, and interact with associated operating environments for Games and Apps
2. To work with the NPD Engineering team to ensure that all mechanical/software/electronic/firmware is tested as required prior to release;
3. To work with the QA department to ensure high levels of compatibility with hardware
4. To work as part of the NPD/QA test team to track bugs and implement negative testing as appropriate.
5. Design, organise and implement test strategy for Mad Catz/Saitek/Tritton developed products:-
• software applications
• software components
• system device drivers
• Gaming peripherals (with respect to their interaction with PC hardware & software)
• Interaction of the above
6. Design, organise and implement
• Creative bug bashing
• negative testing
7. To generation and maintain effective reports within NPD/QA processes
8. Compatibility testing in PC/Console/Tablet/Smartphone gaming environments.
9. Supporting NPD/QA test processes at Contract Manufacturers (CM's) and associated QA/QC testing as and when necessary.
10. Overseas travel required. Mainly within Far East (eg Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Taiwan), and occasionally UK.

Skills and experience required:

1. Good Technical / Analytical degree or equivalent
2. Good written and spoken English
3. 5+ years experience ideally working on consumer related technologies in a manufacturing environment
4. Experience of working in small multi-disciplined teams
5. Knowledge and experience of the complete product life cycle
6. Testing of real time system designs & implementations
7. Ability to generate Test scripts beneficial
8. Experience of short product development cycles (eg 3months)
9. Adaptable and resilient with a positive attitude towards change
10. Self-motivated and works well under pressure without supervision, constantly seeking to learn more and contribute in a rapidly changing environment
11. Knowledge and passion for video gaming a big plus
