Principal Accountabilities:
1. Participate in the decision making of company R&D and execution strategy: understand the trends and development of the industry; participate in the planning of the core product and core business and formulate the execution detail.
2. Feasibility demonstration, selection and development of new product:
a) Demonstrate the feasibility of the new product; Select and develop the new product; Demonstrate the feasibility of the R&D concept of various products.
b) Select from the various channels the new product concept and plan, initiate the project.
c) Take up the overall responsibility of organizing the development of a new product.
3. Take up the technical responsibility of launching a new product:
a) Finish the new product handover, tracking and service.
b) Responsible for the confirmation of production process and selection of equipment.
c) Formulate the enterprise technical standards such as standards for the raw and auxiliary material of the new product and final product. Document the R&D manual of each new product including the formula study, cost accounting, shelf life test, analysis of food safety and nutrition, production process and parameters.
d) Responsible for the definition of SOPs, process documents and establishment of CCP points.
4. Responsible for the technical improvement of current process, equipment and product：
a) Get familiar with the current production process and equipment, propose feasible planning of technical improvement; improve and make perfect the current technology and process according to consumer and customer’s request.
b) Calculate the cost of technical improvement, analyze the profit and risk.
c) Submit technical improvement plan and execute after approval.
5. Daily work:
a) Plan and execute R&D work for new product, periodically organize sample tasting workshop, assist department of marketing to do product marketing test.
b) Budget and cost saving of R&D.
c) Inspection of lab sample and retention.
d) Manage the archive: Responsible for collection, establishment and management of technical documents and archives; establish and improve the archive and documents of original test records, standards, new product R&D, hand-over documents and work summary etc; register the technical archives of the department to support the operation need.
e) Provide support and guidance to his/her subordinate.
6. Assist quality manager to achieve the certification and maintenance of food safety and quality management system.
