Global Managed Marketplace (GMMP) team is dedicated to improving risk management & process streamlining for sellers and our company in a business-enabling way.
The Global Managed Marketplace (GMMP) APAC Analytics Manager will be responsible for providing insights to the GMMP Leadership team to drive key initiatives, with focus on APAC business. They will support the wider Finance team and the APAC business by preparing forecasts and setting financial expectations for GMMP initiatives.
Working closely with key business partners - across Finance, Analytics, Customer Service, Business Unit and Regional teams based in multiple locations - the APAC GMMP Analyst will:
- Provide measurement and insight into key business drivers of performance against expectations
- Develop deep insights related to customer experience for eBay's global business - from analysis through to scenario modelling and business recommendations
- Extract, analyse and collate data from a variety of sources to create both regular and ad hoc reporting for presentation to senior management
- Support the Finance and MMP teams in setting forecasts and financial expectations
- Work with the regional and global analytics teams to ensure consistency of metric and performance measurement
- Identify options and assess financial & customer impacts of key Global Managed Marketplace initiatives, such as roll out scenarios for new markets
- Partner with key business units to challenge their thinking, provide direction, prioritise analytical deliverables, and become a trusted adviser and impartial counsel
- Always walk in the customers' shoes and understand the customers' use of the site

- Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, possess sound business judgment and deep analytical capabilities, demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, and have a working knowledge of the eBay site. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact with skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, problem solving, recommendation development, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to take on open ended and sometimes ambiguous problems/opportunities to structure the problem, develop an analysis plan and execute against it while setting, balancing and meeting tight timelines.
- Outstanding data mining and quantitative analytic skills.
- Possess advanced SQL skills, proficient in Excel / PowerPoint, and have basic understanding of data warehouse architecture.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS) a plus.
- Experience in risk management and/or e-commerce preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to persuasively present insights and recommendations. Skilled and confident in dealing with people at all levels of the organization.
- Prior experience with focus on client needs in an analytical environment a plus.
- High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth environment.
Bachelors degree, 5 years of analytics experience
