Summary of Job Description:
Develops, implements, tests, and documents the high-quality embedded firmware that drives some of LeapFrog's new and existing educational products.
The applicant should have excellent programming skills, good communication skills (both written and verbal English), and experience working in a team-based environment.


Responsibilities:
- Software development from product definition to production release
- Work with Electronic Engineers to define I/O maps and Manufacturing to develop product Test Scripts and Test Code
- Thorough testing of firmware before release to SQA
- Bug report and investigation
- Continuous improvement for software related


Requirement:
- 5 years of related software development experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Strong, proven embedded firmware development, implementation and debugging skills in C and Assembly language
- Knowledge of C++ is a plus
- Ability to read schematics and knowledge of electronic hardware highly desirable
- Be familiar with MCU development process and have good programming habits
- Experience in working in memory-constrained environments on 8/16-bit microprocessors.
- Experience on General Plus, Sun Plus and Nuvoton microprocessors is desired, including their development tools and 6502 instruction set
- Experience in MS tools and document preparation.
- Object oriented design and implementation experience is a plus
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is desirable
