The manufacturing accountant role for IPD Shenzhen requires a partnership with business analysts and functional leaders to provide material cost data and perform variance analysis to enable effective decision making.
Financial analysis support of the Manufacturing Leadership Team includes the forecasting process and performance to forecast reporting. Also providing best practices and suggesting areas for improvement for investment management.
Analysis of material cost data and ownership of data integrity of both standard product costing and all other material costs. This role requires running manufacturing accounting, daily product costing, month-end closing of inventory and inventory reconciliation. Candidate will be an active member of the global Manufacturing & Distribution Cost Accounting Team.
Manufacturing accounting:
· Day-to-day costing and maintenance of costing records
· Monthly Inventory Reconciliation
· Completing manufacturing accounting month end procedures
· Creation and maintenance of work center rates
· Data integrity to maintain accurate costing
· Explaining manufacturing variances including manufacturing efficiency variances, as well as scrap and purchase price variances.
· AAI set up & understanding
· Working with PDM to obsolete item branch records-Process and Procedure-providing for more accurate cost information.
· Good understanding on standard cost and improve its accurancy
· Understanding transfer profit (Transfer Price Policy)
· Understanding duty/freight, knowledge of which products duty/freight should be applied to, accurate application of duty / freight charges to business units.
· Understanding TVCs by product and business (Standard & Actual TVCs) and the ability to answer questions from Product Range Managers and Product Specialists
· Participate as needed in year end audit
· Annual standard cost revision
Manufacturing Analysis/Support:
· DL/MOH Tracker monthly
· Key Metrics monthly
· Associate Count Tracking
· Travel Investment Reporting
· Detailed preparation of MOH yearly forecast and best estimates
· Working with cost center champions as necessary to explain variances to forecast
· Communicating with manufacturing team and manufacturing leadership
· Communicating with financial analysts
· Understanding impact of transactions on the general ledger and their impact on the IPD Financial reporting cubes
· Ad hoc reports as needed
· Ability to model data / scenarios
All of the above are task specific. To be successful, the manufacturing accountant should seek to be a business consultant and advisor, not just a provider of data.
· Drive better business practices and decisions by creating better and more reliable manufacturing financial tools
· Grow from reporting to analyzing and consulting.
· Ability to challenge in a proactive manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- University graduate with a major in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years' relevant experience gained from multinational manufacturing operations
- Fluent written and oral English skill is a must
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working through various channels with established influencing skills
- Self motivated, a team player with sound ERP system skills
