职位描述
The Feild Engineer provides on-site and remote Hardware-related technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve specific hardware and application problems with Kodak's CTP equipment through consultation with customers during installation, integration, training and maintenance of Kodak's front-end products and services.
Responsibilities
(1) Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of the specifications and operation of Kodak equipment and hardware and maintain familiarity with the operation and specifications of competing products through training and self-learning.
(2)Organize, produce and report the progress of on-going testing, trials and samples using Kodak products and services plus various related systems. This work will be performed for current customers and reported to the Customer Support team.
(3) Analyze existing customers' workflow environment. Assist customers with setting up and configuring new installations to fit their workflow models. Working with the customer to identify and implement workflow solutions for their hardware and systems-related issues. Assist in evaluating new products and releases and identifying potential problem areas.
(4)Provide on-site training and mentoring to customers regarding Kodak's front-end systems.
(5)Provide front-line telephone and on-site diagnostic and technical support for the various hardware and systems components of Kodak products for customer companies in order to close calls in a more timely manner.
(6)Provide on-the-job training, education and assistance to fellow team members both within the company and for our customers and partners.
(7)Maintain a working knowledge of industry standard software and hardware systems and relevant diagnostics.
(8Submit written reports regarding customer problems and other related situations, as well as handle other administrative responsibilities such as expense reports and weekly time reports.
Requirements
Working Experience
(1At least 3 to 6 years of related industry experience in a service environment including graphic art applications
(2)Work experience in an electronic prepress and printing environment.
Soft Skills
(1)Superior communication and listening skills to resolve customer problems.
(2)Proven customer-oriented skills in Graphic Arts, hardware development or a related technical field.
(3)Advanced ability to analyze and solve problems.
(4)Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair and solve 90-95% of all related hardware problems.
(5)Ability to adapt to a fast changing environment and work well under pressure.
(6)A good understanding of the printing industry and its processes.
(7)Excellent interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact and discretion.
(8)Strong planning, organizational and administrative skills.
Education & Knowledge
(1)Post-secondary school technical diploma or undergraduate degree in electronics or graphic arts.
(2Extensive knowledge and experience with specialized desktop publishing tools, procedures and processes including QuarkXPress, Pagemaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Trapwise, etc.
(3)Basic knowledge of other prepress solution hardware.
(4)Basic knowledge of imposition hardware.
(5)Basic working knowledge of networking, i.e. hubs, routers, protocols (TCP/IP, Appletalk).
(6)Basic knowledge of Windows NT & Windows 2000 operating systems.
Language skills
(1)Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Mandarin.
