Gore Shenzhen Venting plant within the Industrial Products Division of W.L. Gore & Associates is looking for an energetic, flexible, organized and high performing experienced Design Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support for our fast expansion manufacturing and capital equipment projects. This associate must be able to multi-task and prioritize their activities within a rapid paced environment, have meticulous work practices and be team oriented.

? Be passionate about designing, installing, and supporting equipment used to manufacture products that are the highest quality in their class

? Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships

Responsibilities include:
? Performing mechanical design and hands-on support for process equipment (e.g., machine structure and frame design, pneumatic/hydraulic system design, power transmission design, jig and fixture design, standard parts selection…)
? Leading and/or being a team member of equipment projects from start to finish, including hands-on participation in functional spec development and machine startup activities
? Partner with NPD, process engineers & operations to improve/upgrade existing equipment; working with vendors to design, purchase, install and validate next-generation equipment
? Generating PM plan, troubleshooting existing processing and R&D equipment
? Developing and implementing accurate equipment documentation, such as process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), mechanical drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, functional specifications, factory and customer acceptance test (FAT/CAT), installation and operational qualification (IQ/OQ), etc.
? Working closely with shop associates and providing mentorship for mechanical expertise
? Providing field supervision of contractors for installation of new equipment
? Supporting equipment buyers to look for professional equipment / devices suppliers and participating in certifying the suppliers

Required Job Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree or advanced in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Machine Design
? At least 5 years experience performing mechanical design & startup for new equipment and tooling
? Ability to research and use mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and theories to design new mechanical systems
? Practical experience developing 3D and 2D CAD documentation (models and drawings) using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software
? Working knowledge on machine-safety practices
? Ability to effectively communicate technical matters clearly and concisely, both orally and in written reports
? Ability to interact and work effectively with cross functional teams and a diverse group of associates
? Be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken
? Desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment with good troubleshooting skill
? Flexibility to support off shift troubleshooting and overtime working periodically
? Willingness to travel periodically (up to 10%)

Desirable Job Qualifications
? Experience in designing and supporting automated assembly line/cells
? Demonstrated project management skills applicable to large and small projects and teams, including the ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion
