Title: Lead, Process Engineering
Golf Industry work experience preferred

Function / Area: Operations
JOB OVERVIEW
Responsible for providing day to day direction to the Engineering function in Guangzhou, China. Supervises the technical resources to provide on-going support for the technical transfer of new products from Research and Development to product commercialization (including both component production and assembly.)
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implements goals and measures in order to support key objectives defined by leadership.
· Work with subordinates and peers to develop plans to achieve stated goals and objectives.
· Provide summary information to present the financial impact of these plans.
· Work closely with supported groups to ensure that day to day tasks and projects align with key customer and business objectives.
· Provide regular status to key customers on support activities
· Provide key customers support plans for “off-shifts” and/or irregular working hours.
· Perform periodic one on one review to track progress to development plan and define any revisions as necessary.
· Provide positive and corrective feedback to subordinates on an on-going basis to manage performance. Corrective feedback to be delivered in coordination with supporting HR representative.
· Conduct bi-annual and annual performance reviews including updated development plan for the coming 12 months.
· Provide day to day direction to subordinates to ensure critical internal customer needs are met (production, customer service, and others)
· Conduct group meetings as needed to communicate key information and to build group cohesion.
· Perform tasks essential to maintain staffing levels as necessary (turnover)
· Provide input for the capital expenditures and annual budget to plan the expenses for department(s) (wages, travel expenses, training, etc.)
· Provide guidance to subordinate supervisors and/or managers in completing the managerial tasks defined above.
· Work with Carlsbad based resources to ensure process specifications, procedures, and controls related to new products are well documented and communicated before launch.
· Provide input to Carlsbad resources regarding processing options during the development of new products (Design for Manufacturability (DFM)).
· Work to improve process capabilities in anticipation of new product requirements.
· Use technical expertise to identify solutions for problem-solving or improvement opportunities.
· Ensure technical input regarding process capabilities is provided for use in the development and planning of new products.
· Ensure testing is done to evaluate process capabilities when unknown or uncertain processes are being considered (smoke tests and/or manufacturing trials).
· Ensure technical support is provided in advance and during validation runs to ensure scale up of new products is effective.
· Work with subordinates and/or peers to develop detailed plans to accomplish an assigned objective (process improvement, capital expenditure, etc.). Includes the definition of resources necessary to achieve project objectives.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
· Fluent in both Mandarin and English (both written and spoken)
· Successful at guiding the development of subordinates in alignment with company goals and objectives.
· Proficient in solving complex problems and implementing solutions.
· Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
· Knowledge of basic SPC, SQC and basic problem-solving tools.
· General knowledge of development and manufacturing processes required.
· Knowledge and experience with applicable materials such as Titanium, steel, thermoplastics, composites, and processes such as casting, forming, injection molding, compression molding, preferred.
· Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to learn and apply Six Sigma methodology.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a technical discipline (engineering, etc.) from a four-year college or university.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as an engineer or in a similar support role in a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable)
· Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
· Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business related machines and software.
