Responsibilities:

1. Review and approval on feasibility of material specs

2. Support material and accessory sourcing, development and selection for HQ confirmation.

3. Select and qualify multi-source (at least 2 suppliers) for each category materials to reduce supplier risk.

4. Arrange to outsource for semi-production of small order and samples( under sample room capacity)

5. Review Supplier’s capability and performance.

6. Facilitating DFM reviews with suppliers and project team on fabric material/products

7. Design/engineering reviews with the development team on fabric material/products

8. Signing off all DFM and assure fabric specs to be achieved within time and costs set

9. Reviewing, consulting and approval on the production process

10. Establish succession and keeping the knowledge within the team

11. Coaching and consult product engineers from HQ and XM

12. Consult, tell and coach suppliers

13. Audit suppliers and define, execute improvement programs with suppliers

14. Advice on phase-out or new suppliers

15. Support MRB in decision making

16. Support R&D / Fabric library program from HQ

Qualification:
1. Bachelor degree in Textile background

2. More than 20years’ experience in fabric product manufacturing & development and in sourcing/purchasing field. At least 10 years’ experience in an international company as fabric developer or purchaser

3. Comprehensive knowledge of Nylon & Polyester & Cotton& Acrylic material and finishing(AC, PU, TPU,PVC,SILCONE)

4. Excellent knowledge in fabric product development and fabric production and printing techniques (Screen print, Transfer printing, Digital printing; Roller printing) and embroidery.

5. Excellent understanding of Quality inspection;

6. Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin (writing, reading, listening & speaking);

7. Good understanding of the stroller or seating products

8. Excellent background with good understanding of purchasing practice

9. Outstanding theoretical and practical knowledge of:

1) Forming processes like bending, stamping, hydroforming, etc.

2) Machining processes like milling, lathing, EDM, cutting, grinding, punching, etc.

3) Electro chemical treatments like electroplating, edging, electroforming, anodizing, etc.

4) Material treatments like tempering, annealing, etc.

5) Corrosion

6) Combining methods like welding, soldering, bonding, standard solutions, etc.

7) Material properties and material selection.

10. Good knowledge of 3D/2D drawings and QC methodologies

11. Basic knowledge of processes like die-casting, tumbling, sand-casting, etc.

12. Basic knowledge of strength and stiffness calculation methods.

13. Good in all MS Office applications

14. Perfectionistic; eye for detail

15. Coaching skills

16. Good communication and convincing skills

17. Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem solving skills

18. Cost- estimation and evaluation skills

19. Excellent in speaking and writing in English and Mandarin
