2-3 years experience in credit and collections
Ability to work effectively as a team member and multitask in a fast paced environment with proven ability to collaborate effectively across functional business organizations
Must have strong interpersonal, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution skills
Highly developed communication (written and verbal) skills
Ability to act in a professional manner, deploys diplomacy in all situations, and possesses ability to work with customers in tenuous situations when representing the company
Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize job responsibilities with little or no direct supervision
Experience with controls and compliance regarding credit and collections organizations, processes and procedures
Strong analytical and financial analysis skills to evaluate credit worthiness of customers
Familiarity with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) related to accounts receivable cash application and credit and collections
Pull aging report weekly to initiate making collections calls on all past due accounts.
Prepare weekly aging reports for finance and sales management
Prepare credit/debits request as necessary to correct errors
Research short paid invoices and overpaid items
Escalate customer issues to sales and service organization to expedite payment of invoices as appropriate.
Review contract terms
When necessary, be able to make sound decisions as to whether an account needs to be turned over to an outside agency for further collection efforts
