As a DFx engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for defining and implementing DFMA good practice to the design of Kindle. You will be a key member of the development team and will be the main interface between the hardware and PD engineering teams with local and offshore operations teams within Amazon and our OEM partners.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with the design engineering to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges by enforcing DFM, DFA and DFS principles.
2. Investigate and introduce new manufacturing technology and methodology to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
3. Develop manufacturing process at the OEM, including defining fixture requirements, critical dimensions on parts and critical requirements in assembling.
4. During pre-production builds, drive all factory-related operational issues related to SMT and final assembly processes; ensure effective closure to enable operational success of the new product introduction cycle, and put products into mass production
5. Identify and develop assembly jig and fixture for new products.
6. Work within Operations, H/W and PD engineering departments to implement and optimize manufacturing 1st pass yields and efficiency from prototype through product ramp.
7. Bridge the gap from OEM to Amazon by supporting development builds and production
8. Support cost reduction and sustaining activities.

Requirements:
1. BSME or equivalent.
2. Excellent spoken and written English. Ability to work independently and ensure timely and accurate communication with cross functional teams.
3.Good understanding of manufacturing strategy and DFMA best practices. Able to perform tolerance analysis.
4.Knowledge of CAD solid modeling.
