The Role:

As a Supplier Quality Manager in the Kindle Operations Quality Organization, the successful candidate will be expected to work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Commodity Managers in monitoring and management of Supplier with emphasis on Quality of Material Parts.
？ Collaborate with multiple suppliers to ensure only the highest quality parts are shipped out:
? Conduct Safe Launch Reviews during NPI with follow-up on corrective actions (where applicable) to ensure readiness of the suppliers for ramp.
? Regularly collect data for quality tracking. Where the quality data exceeds our threshold or if the data exhibit a degrading trend, to drive improvements in collaboration with the Supplier(s). This data will be rolled-up on a quarterly basis onto the Supplier Scorecard which the SQM will present during the quality section of the Quarterly Business Review.
? Document supplier strengths and weaknesses and drive suppliers for improvement.
? Have a good understanding of supplier’s process in order to be able to provide an accurate judgment of whether supplier corrective actions are effective.
? Lead cross functional teams to perform Supplier System/Capability and Process audits to ensure the right systems and processes are in place. Work with suppliers to close out all non-conformances and findings.
？ Interface with functional manager to establish daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals and milestones.
？ Establish and implement processes for ensuring that all components sourced in China meet acceptable and recognized industry standards in terms of test, sampling, materials.
？ Work with the Global Commodity Management team to understand and highlight areas where quality and process within a specific supplier can be improved to reduce cost.

Requirements:

? Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience.
? Mechanical and tooling knowledge and experience will be very advantageous.
? Strong e-book/table accessory cover background, particularly in areas of quality improvement and product qualification is highly preferred.
? Leather commodity knowledge/experience will be advantageous.
? Electrical & Electronic product technology knowledge will be advantageous.
? Able to use Minitab to perform data analysis and make sound decisions from these analyses.
? Solid understanding and demonstrated success with practical applications of Lean Six Sigma tools such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Design of Experiment, Measurement System Analysis, Analysis of Variance, Hypothesis Testing, Value Stream Mapping, Pareto Charts, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility, Cpk.
? Experience in implementing processes to control and monitor supplier quality from qualification stage through to mass production is a strong plus.
? Green/Black belt certification is highly preferred.
? Good foundation in principles behind Ford 8D Problem Solving Methodology.
? Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings & circuit diagrams is a big plus.
? Good Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
? Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
? Self-motivated and is able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and flawlessly.
? Able to work independently on-site at suppliers and travel as needed.
