Job Title: Supplier Quality Manager

Location: Shenzhen, China


Responsibilities:

Supply Quality Manager strives to be the leader in end to end supplier quality management and ability to scale to support Amazon Kindle’s engagement from CM (contract manufacturing to ODM (original design manufacturer).
Key responsibilities include qualifying and bring-up of new suppliers to support increased capacity and/or new programs (addressing all aspects of supplier process readiness), developing approved Suppliers for Mass Production of high quality parts, managing suppliers in Mass Production to continuously produce high quality parts consistently, with improvement in yield quarter to quarter.
Sourcing Support
? Lead and conduct potential supplier qualification audits for both system and process levels.
? Support Global Commodity Managers in the development of new suppliers or existing suppliers of new components to improve reliability and quality.


Play Key role in New Product Launch and supplier development

? Drive suppliers to produce the highest quality parts by performing New Product Readiness Reviews and giving Ramp Authorization
? Ensure the supplier is ready for the ramp ups with parts that are ready to be put into the devices.
? Understand supplier corrective actions and be able to describe their experience relative to processes.


Strong Problem Solving player

? Identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, components, and materials.

? Anticipates potential problems, identifies and resolves performance issues and problems that affect the reliability, maintainability

Cross functional team work

? Partners with Global Commodity Managers to reduce life cycle cost of materials and components while maintaining a high sensitivity to quality.
? Maintain communication with suppliers, Global Commodity Managers, and other internal teams on appropriate issues and improvements.
? Interface with functional manager to establish daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals and milestones.


Enhance Sustaining Quality and Standardization
? Managing suppliers in Mass Production to continuously produce high quality parts consistently
? Establish and implement processes for ensuring that all components sourced in China meet acceptable and recognized industry standards in terms of test, sampling, materials.
? Collecting data and compiling supplier quality scorecards as key input to QBR; Present it to suppliers and lead the actions to improve the supplier.
? Maintain records for supplier inspections, audits, and corrective actions.


Requirements:

Education, certification and experience
? Bachelor’s in mechanical or manufacturing preferred.
? Minimum 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing and quality environment.
? 5+ years working experience in managing supplier base.
? GB/BB and CQE/CQM, auditor qualification are preferred


Competency requirement

Technical capability

? Strong technical background in manufacturing process and machining.
? Experience for 2nd operation process (like painting, plating, silkscreen etc)
? Strong ability to lead supplier qualification and process validation, supplier development and new project launch, trouble shooting and quality improvement.
? Able to understand how to read and interpret engineering documents. Ability to identify CTQ/CTP in products and process.
? Experience about assembly, can analysis assembly issue with appropriate tools
? Have capability to manage multiple development programs in parallel


Quality knowledge & experience

? Solid understanding on quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma and Lean tools such as Pareto charts/8D problem solving, FMEA, MSA/GR&R, FAI (first article inspection), Cpk (statistical process capability), PPAP etc.

DFM, DOE, Analysis of Variance, Hypothesis Testing, Value Stream Mapping will be plus.

Able to use Minitab to perform data analysis and make sound decisions from these
analyses.

? Experience in implementing processes to control and monitor supplier quality from qualification stage through to mass production.

Soft Skill

? Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
? Able to work independently on-site at suppliers and travel as needed
? Self-motivated, passion for work, highly committed and disciplined.
? Result oriented, with strong sense of ownership and sense of urgency
